Since it seems the most important barometer of the US economy is egg prices.   Shouldn't we have a thread just dedicated to this key metric?

Post your egg stresses here.   How it is hurting you, how it isn't hurting you etc.....

For me, we don't buy a lot of eggs, maybe a dozen every couple weeks, so it isn't impacting me much yet.

However if you are someone out there who is being significantly impacted by egg prices, here's the place to discuss it.

They (Trump/Vance/MAGA) said that Biden was responsible for the high cost of eggs, but now that Trump is POTUS they say that he has no control over egg prices. Go figure.

For me no because I can still afford eggs.  They would have to go to about $50/dozen before that would impact me, but I'm well off.  People that aren't it's a problem.  We heard about this for years, how inflation made it so people couldn't afford groceries.  Now it's not a problem?

This is the issue. 

People who are well off don't care/notice that they are $10/dozen, that gas is over $5/gallon. 

I thin the egg, gas, prices in general affect those that live paycheck to paycheck and aren't "well off." 

But no one seems to care about those people. It's still a problem but no one hears them. They are poor, soo....work harder, right? Stop buying lattes. Stop your hobbies or other "fun" things that cost money. 

That's great you can still afford to feed your family. Many are struggling HARD. 

Am I "severely impacted?" No. But I didn't buy any last week at the store as they are $10/dozen here. I reached out to my BIL who has chickens to see if he had any at a cheaper price and he said someone had cleaned him out. His have gone from $4/dozen to $7.

Trump repeatedly brought up the cost of eggs on the campaign trail. I assumed that was just an example of the kind of grocery that people buy every week. I also assumed the cost of groceries wouldn’t matter anymore once he got into office.

I care.   I was just being honest.  I have family members that live paycheck to paycheck, can barely afford groceries including eggs, and they voted for Trump because they believed he would lower prices on day one like he said.  They have regrets.

You don't have to link it, people say Biden said it but I don't recall this. But if he did say it would be as preposterous as Trump saying he would end the Ukraine war in 24 hours and people believing him. Mexico would pay for the wall, he would end inflation, etc, etc, etc.
