CA Needs $3.4B to pay for Undocumented Healthcare

Recommended Posts

They were short sighted on how much this would cost:

https://www.kcra.com/article/california-undocumented-resident-healthcare-fund/64168502

And yet....they can't say why it fell short. It's cutting into Medi-Cal and Medicaid for CA citizens.

Quote

The letter did not specify why exactly the program fell short on funds and lawmakers from both sides of the aisle told KCRA 3 they want more specifics from Gov. Newsom's administration.

But of course, it's Trump's fault, even though this is something that was started last year.

Quote

"The big story is they're saying Trump is putting Medi-Cal at risk, when in fact Newsom and the California Democrats have put it on the brink of financial collapse," DeMaio told reporters on Thursday. "They need to act immediately, they need to cancel insurance for illegal immigrants and say we're going to take care of the low-income citizens of our state first."

People like Gavin want to apply this to the entire country.

Why are we paying for health care for people who shouldn't even be here?  What we should do is tell them we're paying for health care and when they show up for it we put them in a van heading for the border.

They are actually ineligible most of the time for Medicaid and Obamacare, however there was a "loophole" that Gavin found.

Gavin signed it back 2019: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/californias-215-billion-budget-to-expand-health-care-for-illegals-impose-penalties-for-not-purchasing-health-insurance

And added penalties for people who DIDN'T sign up. He's such a piece of shiite.

From the article....

"Three Democratic sources close to the budget negotiations who spoke on the condition they remain anonymous told KCRA 3 that while Newsom's administration has said the healthcare for undocumented people is not the sole reason for the cost increases, they want more specifics from the Newsom administration."

In other words, these 3 Democrats know that Newsom is full of crap and don't want to go on record defending him because they know that the truth will eventually come out and they don't want to look like fools.  Especially since Newsom is done as Governor and those people hope to get re-elected.

Turns out that virtue signaling doesn't actually pay the bills. 😆

I have a friend of mine that is involved in county politics. He told me the Covid funds are finally running out and that the powers that be have been giving away the store the last few years. Said it’s gonna get painful.

I for one am shocked they underestimated the costs of this.  My only real question is on a scale of 1-100 how much of it was intentional so they could skew the economic impact of illegal immigration and how much of it was just fiscal incompetence.

The latter. There is no need to skew the numbers on undocumented immigration; it is clearly a net benefit as virtually every serious study of this issue has demonstrated. Even now, even with this billions of dollars screw up in California, it is a net benefit.

I believe that those who cannot afford basic medical care should receive it from the state. That includes undocumented immigrants.

You mean the taxpayers in that state, right?

There seems to be an inconsistency. When we discussed this February 20th, you denied that you supported free health care for illegal immigrants. That had seemed odd to me, I hadn't expected that from you, so seeing that you came back to the topic today and do, in fact, support it doesn't surprise.

We’ve gone over this before many times. You know there are plenty of studies I can cite that show the opposite.  Let’s not speak in certain terms even if we both believe our side of the issue is correct. I feel your belief is wrong just because of things like this and distorting the numbers. As certain as you are you’re right  I'm just as certain I am.

No inconsistency. You noticed I used the word basic, that means life saving emergency situations to me.

Yes I know, but I think your studies are disreputable. I don’t believe mine can be easily dismissed the way the ones by FAIR can.
This isn’t a disagreement about philosophy. It’s one of fact. One of us is clearly wrong about this.

I’d say a case could have been made when there weren’t so many illegals and they weren’t using our services as much that they could be a positive economically. Not anymore. Too many taking too much. Real Tim can’t seem to grasp that things change. And he and other liberals want you to think they are just bleeding hearts wanting to be humane.  Bullshitt. It’s about votes and power.

Sure one of us is wrong. But there are contradictory studies so while factually one of us has to be wrong it’s disingenuous to act as one side has indisputable facts. The situation above shows one example.

So ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS can come here just for free health care while REAL AMERICANS drown in medical debt?

WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?
