In short, Trump doesn't have a goal and he can't make up his mind why he is doing it.

Thanks for telling me someone else’s words. Pity you can’t do it yourself.

Oh, I see. Well if I may - in my own words & POV but having been informed - Trump has been told, in college, by economists, by Mnuchin and Kushner and the best minds the US government can muster in the last 10 years, by businessmen and campaign contributors, that tariffs are poison. He's been told. He does it because he distrusts experts and because it allows him to act as a unitary president, with no controls and allows him to do self-promotion around it. Economically he wants no income tax and he thinks American can return to its pre-1913 economic structure where the government is funded by tariffs.

I think he wants no tariffs.  Makes a lot more sense than your bitter word salad.

The Trans-Pacific-Partnership was dedicated to creating a free trade zone with the nations surrounding China. If someone wanted no tariffs they'd start by supporting that. By the way it still happened, just without the US.

Hillary was for it before she was against it.

Yeah, she was a terrible politician. The US nonetheless joined it in February 2016.

How's everyone doing in here?  Hope we didn't lose anyone off the ledge before it retraced a good bit of the losses.  Another example of why you should never sell into the fear.

On the other hand if we didn't have the weakling panic sellers the smartest of us couldn't reap the benefit.  I say let them go off the ledge, it's just natural selection getting rid of the garbage.

Always have some extra bullets…still off my all-time highs but collected some more of my favorite companies and have plenty of time.

Trying to show a little humility there, Rodg. You could use a little self deprecation.

Over time, periods like this are to everyone's advantage who stays the course and averages in their investments or 401K contributions along the way.

Exactly!

I stated the same thing when DJ dropped 8000 points in 2022 under Biden.  When Trump took over DJ was 42,706.  As of yesterday, it was 41,317.  Roller coaster?  Yes, but in the actual big picture just a small blip.

Stock market is and has always been "The long game".  Patience grasshopper.

I just don't look, but I'm fine. But for the x-thousandth time, it's not about you or me any poster. No one cares about your roster.

Didn't you just post in the other thread about Trump's cabinet and how supposedly "incompetent" they were?

Oh yeah, YOU DID:lol:

No one cares - & it doesn't matter - how any one person is doing in the stock market.

I'm not saying no one cares about Davis' opinion. I am interested in that.
