Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”

Recommended Posts

They’ll pass all this regardless of what’s in it before their month of August vacation. Can’t have that interrupted!

Once they do it will add trillions to the debt. Next time any of these focking dopes starts going on about putting the kids in debt or how the government needs to be run like your budget (typically when Dems control the House) remember to laugh.

You don't know what's in the bill do you?

Thats what will happen. Guarantee. You can play dumb and pretend it doesn’t happen.

I’ll put the over / under at 3 trillion added to the debt over next decade.

All night reading of this disaster.

Who would have thought that cutting a trillion from healthcare for poor people while adding $5T in debt would be so unpopular?

Lots of horse trading, arm twisting, and heavy lifting but these are the twists and turns you have to navigate when your majorities in Congress are so small.

The Republican senators who were very concerned about the spending all ended up voting for it at the last minute before vacation. No way!

For 4 years all we heard was about how Biden is bankrupting the country.  Now, eh what's another $5T in debt.

Suckers.

You don't even know what's in the bill. You listen to Dean Obeidallah all day and night and just do what he tells you to do and say what he tells you to say.

You liberals are like zombies under your leaders.

My understanding is that, very cleverly, most of the pain caused by this bill begins AFTER the midterms. Meanwhile there is a temporary tax reduction for Social Security which starts immediately but goes away…after the midterms.

So transparent. But who knows, it might work. As old Abe said, the people CAN be fooled some of the time.

As for the MAGA crowd, many if not most of them will be financially worse off but since this bill sticks it to undocumented immigrants they don’t care. They also want to make liberals cry.

You've been saying things like this for months.

Your fear mongering is old and tired. It didn't work before, and it's not working now.

I fail to see how this bill will make me worse off. But I know if it doesn’t pass I for sure will be. Tim, please bring me up to speed. Thanks. Unless you’re just saying stuff again.

Newsome just slashed healthcare for immigrants in California. That doesn’t seem to bother Tim and Squishy. Trump!

Sure. Anything that increases the debt this much (estimated 5 trillion dollars) shrinks the value of the dollar. Your spending power will be considerably less over time. The continued tax break you think you’re getting won’t make up for it.

Tax cuts, deregulation, cuts to Medicaid/SNAP, and deficit spending. Looks like something Jeb would pass.

Of course.

ETA - actually it could be argued that some very rich people get richer. Though even that’s debatable, since being rich only improves you if you live in a relatively secure society. And stuff like this creates instability.

Oh, so it won’t just be maga. You’re more concerned with saying ha ha! Than you are with making a serious point.

Not at all. I cited MAGA because my point is that they will support anything Trump does no matter whether it’s good for them or not. If you disagree with this statement, you’re welcome to provide an example or when it hasn’t been so in the last 10 years.

I received a tax break during his first term and have benefited since. And if this bill does not pass I will be paying more. Discuss.

I already did. I wrote that your tax break does not make up for the fact that your spending power is less. You’re actually worse off now than you were then. Financially you haven’t benefited.

It shouldn’t be too difficult for you to verify if I am right about this though only you can do it: first, compare your net annual income in 2017 (when the first bill passed to now.) Second, compare average prices in 2017 to now. I am betting that any benefit you received specifically from the tax cut is inconsequential compared to the increased costs that you spend now on household goods. But you tell me.

Lay out the details of the bill. Bet you can't.

Well, the inflation you speak of was primarily due to Covid spending and Biden spending. Inflation was in check 2017- first half of 2020.  Post Trump tax cut.

I also like how liberals like Tim act as if brining in millions of poor people and giving them benefits and cash has no affect on the price of things. Which makes no sense.

You’re arguing that Trump’s tax cut has nothing to do with inflation?

Trump got tax cuts through with a Republican Congress. Amazing!
