Mike Honcho 5,270 Posted June 4 In college I managed a small convenience store (The Den @Engorgeous George). Over the Thanksgiving Holiday there were only 3 people who were in town, me and two other guys. Me and one of the other guys show up on Friday, third guy isn't there doesn't call nothing and he lives within 100 feet of the front door. Saturday, same thing, I'm ticked and call late in the day, get the answering machine and leave a message "If you aren't dead and don't show up tomorrow, find another job". Sunday, people are filtering back into town but he still hasn't show up to work. Around 3PM, we see an ambulance and fire truck outside his apartment building. Wasn't but a few minutes later, a cop comes in to tell us his roommate found him and that he had died. He'd gotten a hold of a tank of nitrous oxide, was filling up plastic bags, sticking his head in them and suffocated. Always felt bad about leaving that message. No one ever got their head stuck inside that nozzle on the seltzer bottle/whip cream bottle.
5-Points 3,527 Posted June 4 Maybe he heard your message and the thought of looking for another job was too much to bear.

Asian guy who lived in SF. He posted about a suspicious white van parked outside of his apartment, even included a photo IIRC. I think that was the last we ever heard from him. BunnysBastatrds 2,439 Posted June 4 Had a guy who lived on the first floor, I lived on the second floor in a rental house/odd apartment. Went to a poetry, mic night. He wrote it about suicidal thoughts. Got home after banging TR whilst we were taking pictures of us posing nekkid with manequins we stole. Get home and took a bath. I hear him listening to The Doors and Stones screaming. A few minutes later, a single gun shot. Should have got out the tub I guess but I didn’t. So nothing has changed in your life since you were in college. At least you have been consistent.
