Just saw severely damaged CA Highway Patrol vehicles taking cover under an overpass.  Concrete all over the freeway where people above are dropping that and hammers on them.  They need to advance on that group from both sides and take those people into custody.

Just watched the LAPD news conference.  You could tell he was trying not to cross the politicians but he stated they were "overwhelmed and the situation is getting out of control" when he was asked whether or not the national guard was needed.  He wouldn't come out and say yes, but admitted their resources were stressed and their reaction times were slow.  They only have 10 arrests so far which shows you they are just taking cover.  He also referenced his officers were under attack and weren't able to take the posture of making arrests at the present time.
