The U.S. military has joined with Israel to launch military strikes against Iran, a dramatic escalation in the years-long effort by both nations to prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

"We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan," President Trump wrote on Truth Social on Saturday.

"All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter."

Why would any nation, now, trust diplomacy? Iran agreed to curb its nuclear programme in 2015 – Trump wrecked the deal in 2018. Iran signed up to a round of talks, only to be bombed by Israel two days before.

Iran agreed to negotiate with the European 3 – the US bombed them two days later.

BTW, my questioning of AOC's acumen does not mean that I am untroubled by the over 50 year question which was never definitively resolved by congress on War Powers.  Just one of many subjects they ought to have taken up and resolved but which they leave unaddressed while proposing red meat legislation for their constituents or proposing trap legislation for the other party prior to elections.  They ought to address war powers right after addressing immigration, comprehensively.
