Wait. I thought that bitches are female dogs. Now you're telling me the biggest one in the GC is the father? :shocking:

Tranny thread indeed.

not butt hurt, and you are still unoriginal.

typical sop is for you to either parrot, or use terms applied to you.

delusional, and trying to spin false information to fit your world view.

pathetic fraud

My wife/son got me one (Embark) for our doggo on Father’s Day. He’s a hound mix from North Carolina we adopted 4 years ago. It takes 2-3 weeks to process and his DNA is at the lab now.

I can’t wait to find out what he is.

Yes.

I have a fully papered champion lab.

Came back something like 95% lab and 5% something like Rotty. Which was odd because her brothers and sisters from her litter had a full blood panel and they were 100% lab. It's been a long time and I can't find the actual results, but I was shocked.

I have her ACK and family tree and there's no Rotties going back a long way.

Outside of wanting to breed or find a genetic history of illness, is there a reason to want to do this?  I would also assume you'd want this before purchasing the dog... no?  Just curious as this is something that I would not even consider doing.

Just total curiosity on my part. The rescue I got him from couldn’t get any more specific than “hound mix” but couldn’t tell me what kind.

I’m not surprised at the foxhound and pit. I’m really surprised to see he’s 25% boxer cause he looks nothing like one.

Shelters are just trying to rehome pups as fast as they can. They’re not waiting for a DNA test.

And they never mention if a dog could be part pittie or not...  If that word even shows up on an available dog, a lot of people won't even look at it...

When we adopted our dog in 2020, we were told she was a "Plott Hound", because of the coloring...  When we got the results from our free DNA test, there wasn't any "Plott Hound" in her...  She was half-pittie...

It is sad that an adoption agency wanting to adopt dogs as quick as possible, just don't tell the truth...  If someone wants a dog that is part pittie, all the more power to them...

Seems reasonable.  Thanks.  Probably couldn't hurt to know for training purposes.  I'm guessing breed and how quick or susceptible to training they are, may go hand-in-hand.

Some vets around where I live want to know all of the breeds involved so they know how to treat them if issues arise...

Gotchya.  I never had a dog, so I never had to deal with that.  My brother has, and on a couple occasions I needed to bring them to the vet, but they were all pure bred Boxers and absolutely looked it, so my guess is that's why they never asked me what breed they were and why I never offered the information.  Makes sense though.

Just about every rescue has some pitt— I assumed mine did. Was surprised he’s a foxhound, I thought coonhound or redbone.

All dogs are good dogs if you train them right.
