Rachel Maddow said she is “worried” that Donald Trump returning to the presidency could mean she might wind up in “camps” intended to house illegal immigrants.

The MSNBC primetime host told CNN on Monday that she was “worried about the country broadly if we put someone in power who is openly avowing that he plans to build camps to hold millions of people, and to ‘root out’ what he’s described in subhuman terms as his ‘enemy from within.'”

Maddow added: “For that matter, what convinces you that these massive camps he’s planning are only for migrants? So, yes, I’m worried about me — but only as much as I’m worried about all of us.”

 

 

 

Maddow would be happy if it were an all female camp.

Seriously you’re a thoughtful guy and I enjoy reading your posts though of course I often disagree with you. But your biggest flaw IMO, going back a few years now, is your dismissal of all polling. Polling is a science. It’s an inexact science but a science nonetheless. It’s far more accurate in predicting results than not, something like 60- 80% of the time, if it’s one of the respectable poll companies. I know we focus on the exceptions when the polls get things wrong but that’s what they are: exceptions. 
 

The most negative study ever down of polls is from 2020 and found that they were accurate only 60% of the time:

But even that is still most of the time.

Point taken though. I think that both of our perspectives are valid; I was on site participating in a non-violent protest that was not only harmless, but kind of fun. Meanwhile, some nut jobs in Seattle broke shlt and got into it with cops. So Occupy protests were both violent and peaceful.

I'll say this: if you're dumb enough to be at a protest wearing all black with your face covered and carrying anything that can remotely be construed as a weapon, you deserve what you get. These guys are useless scum and simple opportunists. They have nothing to do with the protests, they are rank criminals that make the protestors look bad.

My goodness Tim.   You just don't get it and you will never get it.  For every CNN and MSNBC poll showing no support for deportations, there is a FOX news poll showing the opposite.  Polls have lost their way.  As I have said so many times, polls no longer are a true barometer of public opinion, they are more frequently used to try and influence opinion.
