I did the same thing with Keenan Allen in the June Mock. Obviously another month of him remaining a free agent had me less inclined to do so and this format being 3WR and a flex also made me hesitate just a bit but at the end of the day I reasoned that him signing pretty much anywhere will produce more fantasy viable weeks than anything left at the WR position. I am crossing my fingers he signs in San Fran. Pitt would also be tremendous.. but really anywhere he might end up I think he has 70 catches in him as a crafty possession receiver.

I was taking him, if you didn't.

Did we run an MFL best ball with our results last year?  If so may I have a link?

And - is someone going to do that again this year?

I've done it the last few years.  I'll get that done this year as well...

Mostert and Wilson are out in Miami, which leaves the RB2 spot pretty much in Jaylon Wright's hands (I'm not too nervous about Mattison).   Achane hit right around 200 carries last year and Mostert and Wilson's 100+ carries are up for grabs.  That should open up enough touches for Wright to be an adequate bye-week fill in.    However, if Achane goes down (which he did often his rookie season) Wright would be a steal at this point.

For the fifteenth, I grabbed the Vikings.  They were the #2 scoring D last year and are bringing the band back again this year.  I would think a top five finish is doable.

I was only expecting 6 WR to go before my next pick, we're at 9 and counting...

Debated/debating doing a July Mock Analysis ala Fumble in the June. 🤔 not sure if I have time but may try.

as for my draft….

Definitely wasn’t thrilled with the 8th pick. There’s sort of a clear top 6 and then my preference after those is Amon-Ra rather than Puka with Adams in town and Stafford nursing his back. I sort of felt like I was picking in a dead zone pretty often and wound up ending some runs rather than starting any (Kamara, Mayfield, Njoku).

QB: Mayfield, Prescott

I can’t realistically expect 2024 numbers from Mayfield again. I was hoping for Nix here but knew it was a 50/50 shot. Dak is a QB2 I love.

RB: Kamara, Swift, Pollard, Ford, R.Johnson

The weak spot, BUT Kamara was something like #5 in ppr ppg last year. Was hoping for Breece but perhaps I should be more excited about Kamara getting fed. Swift is someone I am starting to get very high on due to Ben Johnson being in town and having familiarity there. Pollard is an uninspiring RB3/flex. Ford I think is now undervalued, at least at the moment, with all the Judkins nonsense and Roschon is a handcuff play

WR: Puka, London, Ridley, Meyers, Tillman, Allen

the strength of my team. I am very big on my top 3, even though I just said I prefer ARSB but that’s not to say I don’t like Puka. Meyers was a luxury pick and I think a great WR4. Tillman is someone I’ve been in since rookie dynasty drafts but we shall see. If Allen signs in a nice situation, I’d have a hard time believing this isn’t the top WR room in the league.

TE: Njoku, Ertz

maybe another minor weak spot but I think Njoku can be a monster again with Flacco. It may be to the detriment of my Tillman but that’s okay. Ertz was not my preferred TE2 (would have loved to roll the dice on Pitts) but he should suffice.

DST: 🤷🏻‍♂️ was surprised Pitt was there there with 8 or so units off the board.

With health, I actually feel really good about this team. Mayfield coming close to 2024 and Njoku recapturing the magic he had with Flacco in 2023 are probably the keys. That and Keenan Allen signing

And that's a wrap! Results are posted here. A lot of balanced teams. I'm not sure I see one that stands out above the rest. 🤔

I chose to stick with one tight end as I typically do in my home leagues unless a clear value presents itself. Probably should've taken a 2nd TE though given the only one I have is a rookie.

Appreciate your participation this year!

Analysis of my team:

QB:
Josh Allen, Tua Tagovailoa

I thought I got great value on Allen and he's about as safe as you can get. I waited too long on my QB2, but I think Tua's a nice compliment. If he sucks/gets injured, Allen's safe. If he stays healthy and performs up to his talent, he's a nice matchup/bye week/best ball option.

RB:
James Cook, TreVeyon Henderson, Brian Robinson Jr., Tank Bigsby, Dylan Sampson

A weakness of my team. I'm fine with all of who I picked given how the mock fell, but this just isn't as strong as a group of RBs as I prefer. Bigsby I think deserves better than being the third drafted RB on his team, and Sampson I expect his ADP to rise as the Judkins situation continues to unfold.

WR:
Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas, Xavier Worthy, Jerry Jeudy, Michael Pittman, Xavier Legette

The strength of my team. I wouldn't be shocked if Thomas regresses some, but should still be a great WR2. Worthy really came on at the end of the season, hopefully he continues to progress. Jeudy is a safer high volume scorer who proved he can produce with inferior talent at QB. Pittman produced in 2021-2023 despite horrible QB play, I'm putting his down year to being hurt. Legette is no longer the shiny new first round WR in Carolina, but if Young can continue to grow, maybe he'll find his niche and produce.

TE:
Tucker Kraft, Jonnu Smith

Another weakness of my team, but more easily covered up than RB. I'll hope that Kraft can find a weekly niche as a reliable target in the sea of bodies GB has at WR. TE is another position I waited too long to grab a backup, but he's a talent on a team with few receiving options.

D/ST:
Dallas

It's a defense that has produced in the past. Maybe if the offense gets its together (and Jerry gets his head out of his ass and gets Parsons signed and happy) they'll return to form.

As with the June Mock, I'm find I'm not thrilled with the 1/2 round turn this year, though I do love the 3/4 turn.

16.12 WR Dyami Brown, JAC.  This was my favorite pick.  He is the true #2 WR in Jax behind Thomas Jr.  He started showing flashes of talent at the end of the regular season and playoffs last year in Was.  Everyone is over drafting Travis Hunter.  Jax had a glaring need at DB, so they got one who could also handle around 20-30% of offensive snaps with designed touches when he’s on the field.  Hunter will be a week to week boom or bust WR heavily dependent on TDs.  The touches just won’t be there on a week to week basis to justify his ADP.  Brown will handle a full time allotment touches as the beta behind Thomas Jr in a much improved offense with Coen now at the helm that will feature a spread concept balanced with a strong outside run game.  An offense that will make either Etienne or Tuten a low end RB1.  The real question when it comes to the Jags offense is guessing right on which one to have.  Also making Lawrence the real winner for folks drafting him late as a QB 2/3.
