This is potentially a very sad case although the cherry picked, slanted article is missing crucial details.  If states and local governments would cooperate with the Feds we could take care of this problem a lot quicker and efficiently.  When they choose not to assist I have trouble being too bothered by much of it.

Then he has nothing to worry about.  And he has an expedited court hearing to resolve his case.  One of my pet peeves has been the length of time between giving someone temporary legal status and when their cases were adjudicated.  During that time they create lives here and use that as a sob story to stay even if they should be deported.  Biden's people were giving court dates TEN years out.  That's ridiculous.  This lucky fellow will know in a month whether he gets to stay or not.  You should be happy for him.

I suspect there isn't a one size fits all in our immigration system.  By your own biased article's admission he missed at least one appointment with immigration.  That may have revoked his allowance of freedom pending a court hearing.   He has attorneys.  They can petition for his freedom pending his court hearing if he is eligible.
