Name a concert you went to that was not in your wheelhouse. Spermoff.

From @BunnysBastatrds recent bump of guilty pleasure music.

So I used “to drag” my wife to Allman Brothers every March at the Beacon Theater (before residency’s were a thing they played there every March for like 10 shows in 2 weeks) - so I “was dragged” to see Reba at Radio City Music Hall and not knowing any of her songs it was really a good show. Was almost like seeing a Broadway show with costume changes and sets with props.

Bought my wife tickets for Neil Diamond as a surprise Christmas present.

I was familiar with a few of his songs but definitely not my type of music.

Holy sh1t did that old bastard put on a great show!  Turned out it was one of his last performances before he had to stop touring due to Parkinsons.

Whitney Houston.

The Cure. I actually like them, but they are very different from what I normally listen to.

My parents took me to a Charlie Pride concert when I was about 9. Does that count?

I went to a few shows/festivals when I was a kid that were simply about being there with friends, nothing to do with the music. Christian music festivals, State Fair shows, etc. Even when the music sucked, I generally had a good time because I was with buddies with little or no supervision.

Since I turned 18 I can't think of a show I've been to that I had NO interest in. Went to Woodstock 99 and attended several concerts I never would have normally (Alanis Morisette, among others) but there were plenty of acts there I was interested in seeing.

Steely Dan. Saw them in Boston about 10 years ago and only went because Elvis Costello was touring with them. Since then I’ve become a fan. Love their catalog
