Was in Columbus Ohio for work a couple weeks back and they straight up had DraftKings bars which I thought was a bit intense

I love betting and don’t have issue with gambling but it being promoted that openly did just seem off to me.

couldnt find a specific one for the Clase/Ortiz case but

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis L. Ortiz have been indicted by New York prosecutors on charges related to a scheme to manipulate bets on pitches thrown in games.

Passan adds that Ortiz was arrested earlier this weekend, while Clase is not currently in custody. The pair could face up to 65 years in prison if convicted on all charges, which include fraud, conspiracy, and bribery. Prosecutors allege that Ortiz was paid $5,000 for throwing an intentional ball June 15, with Clase receiving the same amount for facilitating it. The indictment also claims they repeated the scheme on June 27, earning $7,000 apiece. The pair of Guardians pitchers were placed on administrative leave in late July amid MLB’s ongoing sports-betting investigation and both appear highly unlikely to ever pitch in the majors again. A final decision on their status won’t come until the criminal proceedings play out. We’ll have updates on the developing situation as it unfolds.

One of these mooks had just signed a $20 mil extension. They say that baseball players are the dumbest pro athletes. I've never seen a better example supporting that statement.

Basketball seems to be the easiest professional team sport to manipulate. 

Baseball, probably managers and pitchers?

Hockey, maybe. If you could get a goalie on board?

But what do you guy's think about football? Refs could be one thing. But maybe I'm just wishful thinking. But it feels like there's just to big of rosters. Too many people would have to be involved. For it to be a player type payoff.

In basketball one of the fixes was the over/under and the player fixed it by faking an injury. That would probably be the easiest way to do it---Jonathan Taylor Over/Under 90 yards rushing...oooh, he went down with an ankle injury on the 2nd play.

College basketball seems like the sport most ripe for the gamblers to manipulate. Lots of schools, most of the athletes aren't paid much, if at all. They won't be able to police it once these idiots realize it's the large bets that raise red flags. There's gotta be a way for these guys to place more small bets without setting off alarm bells.

MLB just implemented a rule that if you want to have a gambling site the max bet on a pitch velocity or ball/strike is now 200 and not allowed in Parlay's if the site doesn't agree with it, they wont be allowed to have ANY MLB bets
