Week 8 Observations…

This is my fault.  I started Baker this week.  and he only seems to perform well on my bench.

I appreciate it. Assuming I get 2.8 from Mahomes tonight, I (the #4) will take down the #1 this week. Baker was one of his duds.

At some point I need to start this Maye guy. I hear he's pretty good on my bench.

This always happens.

Now he as a QB will need to adapt to how teams are defending him.    If he can adapt, hes a legit starting QB.... if not....  he becomes a backup QB.

Agree. I watched a ton of Dart in College and was never impressed. I don't expect him to be an NFL starter for long. He's just not good.

well, the tools are in the toolbox.  but at the NFL level its more processing speed than it is about skill because everybody (for the most part) in the NFL has skill.

I guess we will see.   this is the first dud of the year.  it could be a sign of things to come, or it could just be a bad game. The eagles are a pretty good defense.   so I think it is too early to establish this as a trend, but you can bet on one thing...... whatever the defense was doing against him..... whoever plays him over the next week or two will try to do the same things that gave him a problem.

that said, some weaker defenses likely dont have the talent to be able to execute the game plan in the same way.   so its not a guarantee that hes headed for harder times.

I remember watching a very good defense execute a very good game plan against Lamar a couple of years back and people said a lot of the same.  but I saw the game and I felt that only one or two defenses in the NFL had the talent and ability to execute such a game plan.  so I did not see that as a sign of things to come.   so you kind of need to put it into context.  other teams did try to execute that same gameplan vs Lamar with minimal success.  but I saw those games and clearly they didnt have the talent to be able to execute in the same way and Lamar was good enough to overcome that with only occasional issues.

so I think the bottom line is.... it is likely too early to say for sure one way or another.

but I do agree.  next game or two, the defense will try to emulate what Philly did against him.    it will be interesting to see how that turns out.

Horrible, they deserved to lose with that look.

Well they did lose.   so the Fantasy gods made them pay. (though they were against the pack.... likely they were gonna lose anyway)

Tommy DeVito 2.0

He's Tommy DeVito who can run. That's about it.

just plain hideous....

They should wear these uniforms next time they play the Chargers and Chargers wear their all-yellow uniforms.  The Mustards vs the Bananas.  Burn our eyes out of our sockets lol.

Too be fair, I was half expecting BjRob to run for 200 myself against that MIA run D. ATL keeps running out these dud games though! Carolina, now Miami? Unreal.

Pittsburgh has no wr's

Id bench dak for Milton

Terry McLaurin is elite

Mahomes may possibly be the best QB I've ever seen

Denver has finally found a QB in nix

The Washington coaches don't seem to believe this.  They rarely scheme plays and gameplans towards him and he rarely leads the team in targets.

Not understanding the sudden knock on Dart.

What do people expect out of rookies?  With Nabers the Giants were thought of as a basement team.  Russ was terrible.  Dart has given them a spark without Nabers.  You people expect no bad games?  Who is his number 1 WR?  Why wouldnt Dart go 1 overall if thr expectations are to lift Naberless Giants on hid back and win a bunch of games?

He is 1-1 vs Hurts with much worse roster.

well thats the thing.  we wont truly know what hes about for another year.

teams are gonna find ways to negate him and he as a QB will need to adapt.    Every rookie goes through this.  and the ones who can adapt to the way the league defends him will inevitably become starters.  the ones who cant become backups.

we wont truly know the results for a while

I just find nfl fans to be funny.  Years of watching and everyones quick to anoint teams or players and then quick to dismiss them.  Like they dont learn or remember how it goes.

3 weeks in and people were laughing at the chiefs saying run is over.  Fast forward a handful of weeks now same people are calling them SB favs.

Dart is awesome such a spark beats Eagles handily.   Then has a couple rough games (idk 30 pts vs denver D better than mvp Dak) a handful of starts into his career and now he wont even be good.  Its hilarious.

Giants coming in were a bottomish team, with what most called a lame duck coach.  Only calling card of talent was Nabers.  Russ sucks, Nabers goes down, Dart comes in as a rookie looks better than Russ and at least helps them get competitive.   And he sucks lol.  With Wandale Robinson has his #1 WR.

Dart has a 61.4 QBR good for 14th in the NFL, ahead of Baker Mayfield and Bo Nix. The people here knocking him are morons...

Playing what was or still is called thr toughest schedule.  Eagles twice, KC, Redskins, Cowboys, Chargers, Broncos.  The only team they have played that is down on their level is the Saints.  Yet Dart is supposed to play like a 10 year vet and rifle the ball into Jaylin Hyatt and gather wins vs these teams....lol.  im cracking up.

And im not a Giants fan but the quick flip flop narratives get ridiculous.

well, I said this earlier.

the tools are in the toolbox.   but when it comes to playing in the NFL its all about whats in the kids head.    you gotta make good decisions, and you need to make them quickly.

Not everyone can do that at the NFL level.   you have about a second less time to make those decisions than you have at the college level.  while that doesnt seem like much, its actually a lot.  and the Defenses are more sophisticated and skilled and will throw different looks at you.

its a much harder job at the pro level.

And many on this board was against the benching of Wilson.  Great move by the Gmen, that’s coaching.

I'm still laughing at the one pass Wilson threw while dart was being evaluated. Straight into the ground 10 yards in front of the WR.
