J-B Weld Putty  - $5 stocking stuffer.... every man should have this in the tool box.  Fixes everything. Putty to fit any size and cures in an hour. Glue it? Screw that - JB Weld it.  I've used it to fix EVERYTHING. From tiny to large. Plastic to metal. Does it all. 

Mechanic In A Bottle -  weed-wacker/blower/mower won't start ? - use this. I used to throw away the old machines, til someone recommended this. Unbelievable. Just prime it through carburetor... let sit a few hours... drain. WORKS LIKE NEW. Impressive

Daiwa BG 3500 spinning reel - friend's wife asked me to recommend a reel today. I'd told her to go with this. 3500 perfect size - not dinky, not bulky. Fresh/salt... solid reel. I got one.

Jackery 1000 Portable power.  Got one a few years back - love it. Mostly use for tailgating, but it'll run a full size fridge a few hours. Basically a silent generator. 

Bias Lighting I don't own this yet, but will soon. Makes a soft white glow behind TV / monitor. Looks cool, supposedly enhances viewing, and reduces eye strain.

Nice. I have a couple. Handy for topping off tires before a trip, bike tires and inflating basketball. 

One tip though... the motors in those things tend to be cheap and can overheat/melt when inflating a totally flat car tire - I killed the first one I had. Now I only let it run a few minutes at a time before letting it cool down.

I've started a tradition in the past two years of getting my three adult kids a "dad" useful gift.  Those gifts have been a tire inflator and a fire blanket.

On the strip screw extractor, I've tried buying multiple different types and I've never had one work.  Have you had success with a certain one?

Vampliers or something similar. I had not a stripped but basically rusted stuck license plate screw and used these with ease.

According to Project Farm (youtube tester - great site).... Topec makes the best screw extractor, but I've never used it. I usually just take a drill to the screw until it disintegrates.

Hoped somebody would thank me for posting this. Wish I'd known.  I've been buying TroyBlt piece of crap weed-wackers every 2-3 years for the past couple decades. Took the first one in to get it fixed, but the dude said it'd cost more to fix than to buy a new one. So I just threw it away. 

Recently when yet another one died, I decided I was gonna figure out how to clean the damn carburetor no matter what. Found lots of Youtube sites showing how to take apart a carb UGH. Small parts. Then I stumbled on a site showing how Mechanic In A Bottle fixed engines - all types from wackers, to mowers, to wood chippers. Anything that won't crank up because of a clogged carb. I figured it was probably just snake oil, but the Youtuber seemed sincere and it was cheap - so what the hell.

I'm telling ya that old wacker that wouldn't crank no matter what - STARTED UP LIKE IT WAS BRAND NEW - first pull. I was stunned.  I can't recommend this stuff enough.

That brand doesn't ring a bell, but I have used a similar carb cleaner in the past when I had a gas mower.  I agree it is the first thing to try if it is sluggish starting.

Portable Fan  $27 ...  Sounds dumb I know. What's great about a fan?  My wife bought this before a hurricane last year worried she'd sweat all night without power. It's rechargeable so no power needed.  Charges with a USB-C (same as all modern Iphones).  On low it'll run for 8+ hours. Puts out good air, but not too noisy and very light. 

Wife loved it so much, we bought a couple more. Keeps one in her bathroom, I keep one on my desk, gave the other to the kid for camp or whatever. Has a hook to hang wherever and a light (which I never use).  We now always take one on trips - beach, camping, cookouts (keep bugs off food), etc.  It's cheap and worth every penny.

that actually seems pretty pricey for a 6x6 usb fan (they call it 8x4, whatever).  Not that I have anything to compare it to, I was gifted one many years ago. 

I do agree though, they come in handy. I mostly bring mine when I go crabbing but probably the best use has been, as you mentioned, keeping flies away from food.

If I remember right it was $19.99 years back. Guess the price went up.  If I didn't already have them, I'd still pay it. Once you've got one, ya realize how nice it is. Especially being in Florida.
