Are we at war with Venezuela yet?

Invasion? I never mentioned invasion. We wouldn’t have to invade Venezuela to bring them to heel

What's the plan?

What is he doing?  Why is he threatening invasion?  Why is he blowing up boats and taken over their airspace?

Because they are ruled by a Drug Lord, you Dolt

Trump wants him out of the picture, as does the rest of the World.

A threat is not an invasion. At least wait till he does it

If this is about protecting the petrodollar I’m all for it and if you enjoy your lifestyle you should be too. This should trump your TDS if you think logically

This man is ok with American soldiers dying to so he can save a few bucks on gasoline. What a great American.

I never stated that and it’s not related to what we pay for gas. By you posting that you immediately show that you don’t have any knowledge on the subject. Its goes far beyond what we pay at the pump. Please educate yourself on this .

Funny how the Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has completely disappeared recently.

You have anything else planned for today?

Didn't think so.

Uhhh I dunno {reading glasses here…} “6-7” (Gabbard fan I take it?) I’m an unemployed paltry mendicant, I’ll probably crawl out the public library when they close & hold my bowl out for alms.

MARCO RUBIO, SECRETARY OF STATE

July 27, 2025

One year since dictator Nicolás Maduro defied the will of the Venezuelan people by baselessly declaring himself the winner, the United States remains firm in its unwavering support to Venezuela’s restoration of democratic order and justice.  Maduro is not the President of Venezuela and his regime is not the legitimate government.

Maduro is the leader of the designated narco-terrorist organization Cartel de Los Soles, and he is responsible for trafficking drugs into the United States and Europe.  Maduro, currently indicted by our nation, has corrupted Venezuela’s institutions to assist the cartel’s criminal narco-trafficking scheme into the United States.

For years, Maduro and his cronies have manipulated Venezuela’s electoral system to maintain their illegitimate grip on power.  By scheduling the municipal elections on the eve of the anniversary of the stolen July 28 presidential election, the regime once again aims to deploy the military and police to suppress the will of the Venezuelan people.

The United States will continue working with our partners to hold accountable the corrupt, criminal and illegitimate Maduro regime.  Those who steal elections and use force to grasp power undermine America’s national security interests.

This whole thing, all of it, is 100% disconnected from what Trump just said. It will never cease to amaze how Trump is completely separate from his own government. He’s like an untethered orange zeppelin floating around the stratosphere.

Forget about what is or what is not “war”. It’s a dumb debate. The real question is this: what’s the goal here? Per the interview with Suzie Wiles (which she has not refuted, only argued that it was selectively edited) the goal is to remove Maduro from power. OK in itself that’s not an unreasonable goal; we can all agree he’s a bad guy. But how far are we willing to go to make this happen? And if it does happen, what then? It was fairly easy to remove Saddam Hussein when we finally decided to do it. But we had no plan for afterwards.

Iraq had Sunnis and Shiites in-fighting, ISIS formation, and skyrocketing unemployment many of whom were former soldiers which Bush Jr. made the disastrous decision to disband. It was a powder-keg. I don't think it'd take much to help Venezuela get back on track. Most Venezuelans despise Maduro and his predecessor Chavez anyway.

Not saying we should or shouldn't go to war (probably not)... but it's certainly a different situation than Iraq.

Not to mention our govt is run by a guy who failed at stealing an election, or maybe not

Maduro should not be president.  Our military should not be put at risk to make that happen.

Don't be pro-Venezuela (under the current illegitimate regime) like Bernie Sanders was/is pro-Cuba.

Let’s say I agree with you. Why aren’t we invading Cuba? Cuba props up both Venezuela *and Nicaragua.

Maduro is an evil dictator. And Chavez was as well. Venezuela has gone from one of the richest countries in the hemisphere to one of the poorest, even as its leaders steal massively. It’s a cruel, oppressive, illegal regime. And all that has nothing to do with any of this.

This is bizarre. Madurai’s infamous stolen election occurred in 2018, when Trump was President. There was also a stolen parliamentary election in 2017.

Venezuela nationalized its oil in 1976. Gerald Ford (R) was President.

The tension with Cuba was years ago. It's not applicable today. I also didn't say we should invade Venezuela.

It just happened in the most recent election within the last year.

It’s really not, especially considering Havana Syndrome, docking Russian & Chinese naval ships, & eavesdropping. Not to mention their propping up Venezuela itself.

I realize, sorry, didn’t mean to imply you did.
