Well, granted there are still factions loyal to Maduro in Venezuela so we'll have to see how they respond in the next few days/weeks/months. If they take this poorly and go underground into guerrilla warfare type things, that'll be a problem because Trump wants to stick around and rebuild as well. They'll be doing it without paychecks now though and if I heard trump correctly, it looks like Maduro's second in command is willing to play ball with the US which would makes things smoother.

But its a good sign that the "war" / "operation" was already over moments after anyone knew it started.

It might be hard for Venezuelan forces to attack us. But Mexico has a lot shorter distance to cover with their artillery if he starts a war there. Do people want to see shelling of American cities near the border?

Well, speculating that Trump will invade Mexico indicates abysmally on your level of comprehension on reality but tracks similarly to your comprehension on every other matter.

Sticking around in Venezuela is a risk that I'd as soon not take because we have a bad track record in our lifetimes with that. Fortunately there exists a lack of dozens of fanatical Muslim factions there with 3000 year old grudges against every other faction in the area. Also we have both significantly more experience and significantly better leadership now.

We'll see what day after planning looks like and how it unfolds. Trump is going to use the oil to pay for the ... (for lack of a better word) ... rebuild. 

I was glad when Bush Sr. pulled out of Iraq when he did. It was already a clear mistake to go back in before it ever happened. I'm not getting that vibe now. It might actually be done right, but if it is, it'll be the first time done successfully since WWII.
