What do you do with an old coin collection?

This is not my thing, but I also don’t know what to do with it. Dad passed away a number of years ago collected coins as a kid. Has a ton of them obviously of varying value. Like a lot of then are worth 5-20 bucks. More than the coin but not sure enough to Not be a hassle trying to move it. 

So part of me wants to keep it because it seems really shallow to go sell all these things just to go buy gas or pizzas or some but if any of you guys done anything with old things, your parents had once they passed that you felt OK about?

I used to have an awesome penny collection, including the 1940s steel ones and a 1909 VDB. I started it as a kid.

Somehow, that collection got lost along the way. 

With the discontinuation of pennies, I thought the value of a penny collection would skyrocket. Alas, I went online and could buy the whole shooting match from 1909 to 2025 for like $130. 

With billions of pennies still in circulation, it might take a long time for them, other than the rare ones, to be worth more than 1 cent apiece.

  This, but take it to a 3rd party to get the collection appraised. They'll charge you but it's totally worth it.

The copper in a pre-1982 penny (95% copper) is worth around 2-3 cents
