They have an above-average NFL QB but repeatedly fail to assemble an effective OL. All this is no surprise yet they will continue to change Harbaugh's approach without addressing the elephant in the room (the GM). I wouldn’t say they failed to assemble an effective OL, they had injury’s that wiped it out.
Showboat 308 Posted January 14 Saw a report that Mike McDaniel will meet with Bucs about their OC job. I think that would be a great hire for Baker and the Bucs offense. He'll probably have options as the Lions also interviewed him for their OC job. He's probably waiting to see if he can get another HC gig, but I think he'd be much better off taking one of these good OC positions, flourishing, and re-emerging as the top HC candidate in the next cycle (unless he can somehow score the Ravens HC job now). I think a big part of what is happening is that they have a good QB but prefer to run more than pass. Also I suspect the owner is seeing all these younger QBs and exciting coordinators and fancy passing games and he wants some.

weepaws 3,488 Posted Monday at 09:24 AM Amazing, that was named coach of the year twice, when Chuck Noll never won that award once. Shows how watered down the nfl is, it’s pretty bad, not even worthy of watching, and the Browns last two seasons, 8-26. Mmm investing hire.

GobbleDog 1,026 Posted Monday at 03:54 PM Bills firing McDermott reminds me of Philly firing Andy Reid in 2012. Consistent playoff appearances - numerous conference title games... NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Worked out for the Eagles, but I think it's a mistake. Spoiled bastards. I'd kill for just one AFC conference game appearance. Go dolphins

McDermott might have some anxiety. He's in the same boat. Although, Mahomes has ripped the hearts out of many folks in the NFL. Called McDermott's firing almost two weeks ago. Hmmmm .. haven't been following ALL the HC interviews (BAL & TEN up to a dozen??) .. but one would think B. Daboll is on BUF's radar.

GobbleDog 1,026 Posted 14 hours ago Over the weekend my Dolphins hired former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley who's never been an NFL head coach before. His only stint as a head coach anywhere was four years at Boston College ('20 to '23).... where he finished with a conference record of 12-22. Dolphins owner Ross took over in '08 and has never hired a coach with NFL head coaching experience. Dave Wandstat in 2000 was the last coach with some experience... which was also the last time the Dolphins won a playoff game. The general consensus among Dolphin fans to the latest hire:

I'll be SHOCKED if anyone is stupid enough to give McDaniel an NFL head coaching gig ever again. Perhaps only Dolphin fans actually listened to his press conferences.... Youtube some - he sounds like a stoned idiot teenager. "Well, uh, ya know... um, we tried to, uh, ya know, move the ball, but umm...." That's not even an exaggeration. That's exactly how he speaks. A vape-smoking, capri-wearing, fruit loop of a head coach. No player respects that.
