Rich Hill outduels Jake Arrieta - RUT ROH!

Recommended Posts

Has a team ever faced more pressure going into a league championship than the Cubs?

All Rich Hill throws is big looping curve balls. Arrieta did not look good.

HUGE pressure on Lackey tonight. will he deliver?

Cubs doing Cubs things again in the postseason. I hope they go another 100 years without a championship.

Rich Hill was mixing up those curve balls nicely last night

Nice job DUMBrowski to not sign Hill, yet trade his #1 pitching prospect for Drew Pomeranz

It is all Bartman's fault that they were shutout the last two games...

Blame the goat

The Cubs offense is atrocious this post season.

Bryant and Baez are the only guys hitting anything, and their pitchers and bench have bailed them out when they needed runs.

If the middle of the order doesn't come around tonight, it's over.

I am hoping for a Cubs loss mainly because I am going to hate the media tug job for Theo Epstein if they do win. I always thought he got too much credit for the Sox win in 04.

No No No! Bartman was responsible for the first shutout the billy goat is responsible for the second shut out. Yet to be named jinx will be responsible for not winning the WS this year.

147 million tied up in

C.C. Sabathia
Masahiro Tanaka
Jacoby Ellsbury
Brian McCann
Chase Headley
Brett Gardner
Starlin Castro
and
PAYROD
leaves them with about 100 million to spend on 15 players, I don't like their chances.

I said 2018. A lot of those guys, CC, Headly, Garner A Rod will be gone and it looks like McCann is being traded back to Atlanta this winter. Baby Bombers + money? Look out.

Rizzo and Russell finally showed up. We'll see if Lackey can hold 'em now.

Ugh. Bases loaded bottom of the 5th. I guess that answers that.

Montgomery gave up a couple but came through with both his arm and bat.

Cubs up 6 with their bases loaded now. Rizzo and Russell now with 2 hits apiece.

Good thing the bats showed up against a 20 year old.

Lester vs Maeda - Lester on the mound is YOOGE

I'm sure the Dodgers are wishing they could throw Kershaw and Hill again without having to use Maeda.

If the Cubs can win tonight:

Another Kershaw shutout seems likely in game 6. Then the Cubs will have to hit Hill's curve balls to get to the series.

If the Cubs don't win tonight, they're in deep sh!t facing Kershaw in an elimination game. They get to go back to Wrigley, but I'm not sure that helps much.

Whoever wins the NLCS will have an uphill battle against a red hot Indians team getting 5 days rest and home field advantage.

that gives them 80 million for 14 players.

He's nasty. I'd be okay with Texas overpaying for him.

come 2019 and beyond, the yankees will be scary. I'm with you there.

Let me enjoy another winter and summer knowing 2018 they'll probably be mutts again.

Sox have to be good too, think they will be. The rivalry needs to have some juice again.

Would have been great if in 2018 Anderson Espinoza was starting for the Red Sox, but nope. DUMBrowski had to trade him for a stiff.

Cubs are 1 win away from the Series but will face the best pitcher in the game tomorrow.

I know many starters are on pitch counts and situational pitching is the new normal, but I still can't help but wonder how Maeda can be a major league starter and only be expected to throw 3-4 innings.

Is that normal for him?

Cubs have Hendricks tomorrow who is no slouch either, definitely not on kershaws level, but still good

Yep. And he's been awesome at Wrigley.

Now that Rizzo and Russell's bats are hot, I'm hoping they can somehow scratch and claw their way to get a run or two agaisnt Kershaw and let Henrdricks do his thing.

Think they'll sit Heyward?
