Isn't Vlad basically F. McGriff, minus a WS ring?

I can't believe T. Raines doesn't get more support than he does. To me he's a flat out, no brainer.

so you're anti-steroids obviously.

you know for a fact Pudge who played with Canseco, JuanGon and Aroid didn't do them? Laughable

Palmeiro was also on the same Rangers team as Pudge.

Palmeiro tested positive in 2005

Yeah, I edited that out, as I hit post, I remembered.

It was Stanazolo that he tested out for.... The really significant thing about Raffy - is that he was one of the 1st ones named by Canseco that actually ended up testing true. Gave instant credibility to all of Canseco's claims.

It's a shame Raffy isn't on the HOF ballot.

Speaking of numbers, check his numbers. Outrageous.

The thing was, he was never the best player on his team.

Never finished higher than 5th in MVP voting

He also played at the same time as such greats as Mattingly, Mo Vaughn, Frank Thomas and McGwire - got lost in the shuffle.

Players in bold are 1st year on ballot.
Others are in order of percentage of votes they received last year.
Pudge seems the only lock and probably Bagwell.
Manny won't get in which is focking outrageous
How Bagwell gets in and not Kent is a travesty.

Pudge was a steroid user. He is not a lock at all.

Bagwell, EDgar and Raines. Those are the ones that should get in.

Don't understand anybody who mentions Bagwell over Vlad, Vlad was a much better hitter.

I don't care about OPS in this case, I love the fact that Vlad was going up there to rake.

Schilling is the only one I'd consider at this time.

I saw him in a bar with some buddies a couple of years ago, he was a skeleton compared to his playing days

Mcgriff has 43 more homers in something like 600 more at bats with a batting average that is over 30 points lower. McGriff has like 5 more RBI again in many more at bats.

It's a decent comparison but vlad could hit anything.

Unless you're a pitcher, does a WS ring even matter? baseball is a total team sport (other than pitching)

Great pitching always beats great hitting.

Edgar and big poppi are the best designated hitters in the history of baseball. He most certainly does belong in.If he doesn't then neither does Ortiz.

"While Martinez has fewer home runs than Ortiz, a variety of other stats paint him as the better DH and probably the best one in baseball history, from his 147 OPS+ to his 148 wRC+ to his .312/.418/.515 slash" Oh and Griffy Jr. is 100% sure he deserves the HOF. ....but lets listen to Edjr instead.

1261 rbi's, 309 hr's, OPS .933 - good Lord, focking Tino Martinez had better numbers and he even played in the field.... Stop it already.

Numbers just don't work anymore. not when you have 309 HR (laughable) and played in the roid era

If you're a DH (as Edgar was mostly known for) - you better have some focking eye popping, astronomical stats to get you even consideration.

Edgar was an really good hitter, always hit for a high average and was a hard as hell out - but give me a focking break... It will be a crime if T. Raines doesn't get in - it will be laughable if Martinez does.

Edgar played during the height of the steroid era, those numbers just don't work, sorry.

papi has 500+ hr and although I am convinced he is cheating, has played during the testing era of MLB

So when big papi does not get in because of the bias against the DH you are not going to cry like a b1tch? Doubtful.

name a more clutch hitter in your lifetime. who happen to have helped/carried the Red Sox (a team that hadn't won in 80 years to 3 world series)

yes I said early that WS shouldn't matter necessarily, but with Papi it's different. The dude MASHES in the playoffs and especially the WS

1.372 career WS ops

Much like Schilling, playoffs matter.
