mighty_thor 115 Posted June 9, 2015 The baseball draft is a crap shoot. Much more difficult to tell how a player will pan out. Take a look at the number 15 player taken over the past 10 drafts. I doubt you find anyone any good and most probably just play a few games in the majors.

Chronic Husker 85 Posted June 10, 2015 Once again, edger doesn't know what the fock he's talking about. Cuddyer is the 2013 NL batting champ. He took a pay CUT to leave the Rockies for the Mets. His obp is always solid, he has 20 HR power (even in Metco), has one of the best arms in the game for RF, even swipes a few bags, and is the ultimate clubhouse guy. The Mets desperately needed to add bats this offseason (with little payroll available - perhaps you heard of the Madoff robbery), and Cuddyer was about the best bang for your buck free agent out there. Further, as has been pointed out, mlb 1st rounders rarely pan out. Stop posting about a sport you know nothing about.

edjr 5,567 Posted June 10, 2015 Michael Cuddyer’s signing with Mets shocks sports world http://blogs.denverpost.com/rockies/2014/11/10/michael-cuddyers-signing-mets-shocks-sports-world/19107/ Michael Cuddyer turned down a $15.3 million qualifying offer from the Rockies to sign a two-year deal with the New York Mets on Monday. The move landed the Rockies a first-round draft pick in 2015 and Cuddyer a hefty raise. But it also left the sports world baffled. Rockies owner D1ck Monfort said last season that he “would like to figure out a way to keep” Cuddyer this season, and it was known in and out of the clubhouse that manager Walt Weiss was a big fan of the 36-year-old outfielder. “I’d love to have Cuddy back,” Weiss said near season’s end. “He’s a dream for a manager because he sets the standard high. … The leadership — some people may think that’s overrated, or you think it’s overrated until you don’t have it. Then you learn how valuable it is.” In Cuddyer, the Mets gain a right fielder that may push Curtis Granderson to the other side of Citi Field: 36 years old

He has a history of being hurt and he's not that good! If you hit on a player in the draft you get him for what? minimum of 6 pro years before he can become a free agent? You can even trade a prospect for another player. holy fock you people just aren't baseball savvy.
