Ray_T 591 Posted April 1, 2014 well if it doesnt pan out the risk isnt too high. Its not like they are risking big dollars and cap space on the guy. I approve of the move. (not that they need my approval) if he doesnt pan out they can just cut him... no biggie.
JT 137 Posted April 1, 2014 Low risk, high upside at a position where bodies are easy to come by if Britt flops.
dehaven123 31 Posted April 2, 2014 i like the move, but dont expect much if your a rams fan. but, tavon will make the jump this yr, so there's always that.

WhiteWonder 2,171 Posted April 2, 2014 due to character and surgeries, Britt was not going to get more than a 1 year deal to prove himself from anyone. This might be the best spot for him. I think Carolina may have been better but at least he gets to play for Fisher again. Good move for the Rams. As others have said, low risk, high potential reward.
kilroy69 994 Posted April 2, 2014 sign whoever they like. Bradford is a terrible qb that got drafted based on the fact he played college ball against teams that do not play defense.

Well, I also have to believe that Fisher knows things about this guy that the rest of us dont. he has coached this kid before, and I dont think the team wouldnt have signed him if Fisher didnt think he could do something good with the kid. obviously Fisher doesnt think the character issues are as bad as advertised. The doctor would likely decide if the injury issue has resolved itself (in whole or in part) this is one of those situations where You gotta trust your people. I look at this situation and if I was a fan of the Rams, I'd be more comfortable with this situation for this reason. I also think that Bradford > Locker so if there is any chemistry between Britt and Bradford, the numbers will be decent (assuming he stays healthy) I figure he could slot in as a decent #2 WR or an excellent #3. I think if you are counting on him to be your #1 WR you are in some trouble... but the bonus is... hes not being paid top dollar. at the rate of pay he is getting you can afford to have him as your #3. So overall I think this is ok.
ffgiant 10 Posted April 2, 2014 Good signing for the Ram. Not a good landing spot for Britt. If he has anything left in his tank after all the surgeries and off field issues.

Also sometimes coaches and gms can have rose colored glasses when it comes to "their guys". fisher may have visions of the Britt he coached and he just may not be the same player. in the end its a good move for STL but as a Britt owner i wouldnt be overly excited yet. the good news is he has a bunch of nothing to beat out aside from Austin/Bailey
Fantasy Noob 10 Posted April 2, 2014 What no jokes? I expected more out of you guys this is the Rams WR corp we are talking about. When was the last half their WR corp wasn't on IR by week 6? Their trainers probably fell over laughing at this signing. Britt should have tried out for the Phoenix suns.
snatchit 108 Posted April 3, 2014 why the hell would anyone be a Britt owner ????????????????????????????????????????????
TheUsualSuspect 207 Posted April 3, 2014 Britt should have tried out for the Phoenix suns. This. He is near worthless, undraftable... Which is why I don't know why we are discussing this person right now. 36rec for 405 and a TD is what I predict in 2014.
Upper Class Trash 67 Posted April 3, 2014 Your prediction is too high. As a St. Louis guy, and a Rams Homer, I'm expecting him to hit the under on the 36 receptions. Who is he going to beat out for playing time? Not Austin or Givens. Likely not Pettis or Bailey. Quick is entering his 3rd season. Bailey is the most promising of our WR's, but he's not being given the chance because nobody wants to look like the ass that wasted a high first rounder on a smurf. Austin was in a taylor made offense for him in the NCAA. The Rams need an over the middle guy, NOT another slot performer. My Lord, this team is full of only slot guys. The Rams receiving corps is horrendous with a bunch of mediocre players. Not saying he will be better, but he is the biggest receiver by far.

WhiteWonder 2,171 Posted April 3, 2014 yikes. Kenny Britt is 6'3" 220lbs. He is NOT a slot receiver. He also ran a 4.47 but after his injuries, this is the big ? how much speed has he lost? I will repeat, he is 25 years old. Younger than Austin Pettis and all of a year older than Givens and Quick. He's a redzone target. From the start of 2010 through week 3 of 2011, he had 12 TD's. Thats 12 scores in 15 games (he played 12 games in 2010). Britt has 2 issues. The first is his off field nonsense. This has been relatively quiet the past year and a half. The second is health. He tore his MCL and ACL in early 2011. Plenty of time has passed from that. Considering he has not played with any spectacular QB's, Bradford should be alright. Look, i'm not saying he will amount to anything but if this guy is healthy and even the least bit motivated (1 yr deal) I see no reason he can't get a lot of playing time. Britt/Givens and Austin in the slot.
IGotWorms 3,315 Posted April 3, 2014 Britt is worth a flyer, could be a late-round guy who pays dividends. I wouldn't draft him as anything more than that though. We'll see how the hype is on him, might push his ADP far too high
WhiteWonder 2,171 Posted April 3, 2014 fantasy wise im not sure i see myself drafting him. maybe as a flier WR6 or something. I do own him in 2 dynasties as WR6 and WR8 respectively, so easy to cut bait.
R8RMick 242 Posted April 6, 2014 Much ado about nothing in my opinion. This is a running team now, and this move is nothing more than getting some low risk depth at the X receiver position. He won't be fantasy relevant, even if the stars align for him.
