#6307996 Why is Cam ranked so high for week 2?

Posted by Mike FF Today on 13 September 2018 - 11:18 AM

I was thinking I'd play Mahomes this week but all the rankings are all saying Cam. What am I missing? Is losing Jones the key here? I'm guessing the Falcons used him as the spy so maybe the thinking is the run game opens up for Cam.

The loss of Atlanta's two key defenders certainly is a big factor. I do think Cam will have more on his plate this week and with the Falcons being susceptible to pass-catching RBs, a score from McCaffrey through the air seems more likely in this game. Add in a TD to a receiver and one on the ground and you're likely looking at the top QB for the week.

If you're more comfortable with Mahomes, by all means get him in your starting lineup. I like him this week too but think the ceiling is higher with Newton, with slightly higher risk.

#6297760 Jerick McKinnon injury

Posted by Mike FF Today on 01 September 2018 - 03:59 PM

Just updated my projections/rankings for SF. Full update for all roster cuts coming tomorrow night....

RB Jerick McKinnon - down. Will drop him out of projections once diagnosis is confirmed.

RB Matt Breida - up. Expect him to split time with Alfred Morris. No.40 in Non-PPR.

RB Alfred Morris - up. More valuable in Non-PPR leagues (No.36). Will SF sign another RB?

SF WRs - Slight bump for Goodwin, Garcon and Taylor.

#6262938 Draft Buddy 2018 - Post-Cut Down Day Updated Projections + Depth Charts

Posted by Mike FF Today on 12 July 2018 - 09:04 AM

Update is ready! Notes from MK: Saquon Barkley up a couple spots, McCoy down a couple spots. Slight adjustments for the ARI, PIT and DET receivers.

My 2 cents on McCoy is put him on your do not draft list until further notice. I honestly was not drafting him at all before anyway. Its the Bills. Things are grim. He did a lot with a little last year but with the loss of Tyrod I was not expecting a repeat. Now things are way up the air, he's really have to fall to even consider him. Chris Ivory a late, late consideration in the event McCoy gets suspended.

Agree on McCoy. I wouldn't be drafting him right now but I'm not going to significantly decrease projections for him until we get some further clarity on the situation. He's certainly toxic right now.

#6259700 2018 July PPR Mock - Rules/Draft Order

Posted by Mike FF Today on 07 July 2018 - 10:09 AM

Are we required to draft a kicker or defense?  Any requirements for number of QBs, RBs, WRs or TEs that must be drafted?

Nope. Just treat it like you would a normal 12-team redraft league that you would be playing in. If your strategy is not to draft a kicker, that's cool.

#6255766 WR Rankings...Huh?

Posted by Mike FF Today on 30 June 2018 - 05:52 PM

Check some other sites....and compare their rankings...For example...Sportline the 3 guys rank 60 WR's...Jacksons rankings 56, NR, NR....I love FF Today articles....but their rankings have always been "odd"

I'll take "odd" as a compliment. In all seriousness jbryant4, If my rankings mirrored the others in this industry, then you should probably question my projection/ranking process and wonder whether or not I'm just taking the easy way out and mimicking the general consensus.

I talked a little bit about the Browns receivers in this thread, but even though I love the skill players, I have serious doubts that the QB tandem of Tyrod Taylor and rookie Baker Mayfield along with a new OC implementing a new offense is going to make Gordon, Landry, Njoku and all 3 running backs  fantasy relevant. In all likelihood somebody (or somebodies) are going to be left out in the cold. Right now I have Gordon with the advantage, but I'm honestly still formulating my opinion and look forward to camp to see if either Gordon or Landry is going be the preferred option in the passing game.

As for DeSean Jackson, if you go back and watch games from last season, you'll see that Jackson just missed on seem deep balls that could've drastically improved his stats from a year ago. Even with Winston on the shelf for 3 games, I don't think it's absurd to think D-Jax has a bit of a bounce back coming in 2018.
