BS. He knows the risk he's taken by drafting Day's wussy ass, it's his own fault :nono:

So what I'm reading here is that I can go ahead and grab Phil the Thrill Mickelson here, right? And then switch if the rain don't come?

A true fan wouldn't have let him slide to me in the 5th here before this question was posed.

I was already thinking of grabbing him in the 6th just for fun.....but Ed's premature ruling made me think he was having the same thought....so now we have to address it....as I'm thinking the rain is going to help him out. Plus rumor is his daughter may have failed her science test.

i was under the assumption the a re-do because of a withdraw was for random withdraw.. events not planned.

Mickelson is planning to miss the event. unless XY and Z all happen

meh, take him. i'll cheer for you to win if he somehow makes it. I'd be very happy.

Phil Mickleson has a 2:20 Tee time for Thursday.

You can draft him if you wish.

you won't know by 7:45 EST Thursday whether or not he is playing. You'll be stuck with him whether he plays or not

Re-read what I wrote.

The rain is supposed to come in the morning. So I feel like there is a 50/50 shot of Phil seeing that and announcing his intent before 7:45 EST. If he bails, I can switch, right?

Most importantly, I appreciate us having this discussion before the fair weather Phil fans like WW get back on the clock.

it's a good gamble.

Wish we/I had thought to clarify before we started.

Good on CBF for forward thinking

I can't wait for that 10 minute light drizzle....followed by the USGA experts being confident of lightning on the way, and then clearing the entire course.

Um, not sure I agree with that.. With a major on the line, and the hardest one to make the cut in on top of that - you need all the bullets you can get.

The graduation unexpectedly being moved up 2 hours.....a sketchy rain delay with Ian Poulter fuming on twitter that this would never have been done for a Euro....a satellite tracker of Phil's plane, just like the Santa tracker on 12/24.....Experts analyzing the wind direction and what that means for his jet.....police escort from the airport to the first tee........and Phil not even taking any warm up swings or ever having seen the course, finishing off the career grand slam.

And some loser named Ty Hatton double bogeys the 72nd hole to give me a 1 stroke win in the battle for Golf King of America Ed Cup.

Yeah, that;s true.

didn't we have several not have 2 make the cut?

what are the rules again? only need 2 to make the cut?

Thursday, June 15

High: 87 | Low: 64

60 percent chance of precipitation | Wind: W at 11 mph

Scattered thunderstorms in the morning, then partly cloudy late

Oh my. I've been doing some research and this forecast is almost identical to that just a few days before the 3rd round of the 2002 British Open. Looks dire.

If I had a late 6th rounder i was considering abusing the kindness of EdEx by either getting storyline Nippleson, or a likely guaranteed replacement.

You, like I, respect Phil's game and ambassadorship to the sport. We value such things over trendy picks like Ross Fisher or David Hearn. In short, we are his true fans and history will remember us as such.

Of the month? I was the one that found the "Apu low rent message board" deadspin story and posted it here......and I have enough belief in him to take him in this draft......I'd say I have pretty much locked up Geek Club All Time Greatest Phil Supporter by this point.

gtfo. im a bigger Phil fanboy than any of you. I applaud you for the pick and im dead serious that If I had been under the impression that the rules were for players intending on playing before WD'ing, he'd already be on my team.

good on you for clarifying and making the pick.

In fairness to you Ed, he isn't your favorite golfer. So it likely wouldn't have occurred to you to check if he had a tee time and look into if you could draft him.....like I did.
