MLB Playoffs!

Recommended Posts

911 and the Patriots win, Katrina and saints win, Boston bombing and Sox win, Hurricane and Astros win. Hmmmm.

Yeah. After successfully orchestrating the greatest and most improbable seesaw battle in WS history, the MLB powers that be were somehow able to magically force Darvish to completely sh!t the bed tonight.

Good call.

Going to be tough getting to work tomorrow and not seeing who won the world series. It will be everywhere

It won't be in any print media as this game will end closevto if not after midnight EST.

But as long as Clayton delivers they have a chance.

Yes stranding 6 in 3 is certain death but there is 6 still to play.

The newspapers here used to have bulk, multiple sections... Now they look like a pamphlet.

Managers make unusual pitching decisions when their staff has four months to rest.

wouldn't they have made a New York team win after 9/11 if this was an actual conspiracy?

Dodgers should have just gone ahead and started Kershaw.....seriously.

For realz.

They got burned starting him in last year's NLCS game 7

They were probably gun shy.

Planes originated from Boston ?

NY had Mets/Braves. Piazza "heroics" first game back. Still emotional about that night. Wow

It's early bro

True.. But if he was available for this much, why not just start him? I trust him more on short rest than a fully rested Darvish.. Kershaw said he was available for 27,I don't think he was kidding.

Red beard delivers.

Astros going deeper into the pen. Here we go.

Definitely seems risky to burn through their bullpen like this

I just was thinking that... I guess his plan is to finish with starters, Kuechel?

Back in the day, the Ace started Games 1, 4 and 7. Not sure why that changed.

Rocked the whole country. Most patriotic sounding team..

Sep 11th is now Patriot Day.

Not that I think there's something to this.

What are you saying?

The Diamondbacks won the series immediately following 9/11

The poster was questioning how a NE team winning the SB afterward fit in.

I was only 5, but Fergie Jenkins' 1974 season is still legendary lore around here.

25-12, 2.82 era, 29 complete games :shocking:

In 1968, Mayo Smith sent out Denny McLain for games 1,4,and 6 and Mickey Lolich for 2,5, and 7. No, there was no rain delay to work with. In the three games that Lolich pitched, he went all nine innings and was 3-0.

Bellinger for LVP!

Darvish will give him a run for the title.

I keep waiting for the Dodgers to explode, this is after all the same Houston bullpen they've been knocking around like pinballs for the first six games. But here they are, one inning after the other, not scoring. One last chance to get those four runs.

Seems unlikely at this point. This game has been a dud since the 2nd inning.

If you had a stud pitcher, you left him in.

MLB's last 30 game winner... http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/pitchinglogs.php?p=mclaide01&y=1968

Denny McLean 31-6, 1.96 ERA, 28 complete games

41 starts and 336 innings + 3 more games in the world series including a complete game.

Congrats to Justin Verlander and whatever team he plays for now.

Just kidding, Astros looked good, kept me entratined this series big time. A hat tip to the Dodgers for the same reason.
