Tim’s thread about anything but politics

Bullsh*t. The Nuggets took OKC to 7 in the playoffs last year, and the Nuggets are a significantly improved team this year. In any case, your assertion that the Lakers have a shot at the championship is a fairy tale. Absent injuries or some other oddity, only four teams have a chance in the West, and the Lakers ain't one of them. And most likely it'll be either OKC or Denver coming out of the West.

If, by play well, you mean the game being over at halftime you've got a point!

    Family Inheritance?

Always interesting how some external factor plays in to these decisions. For me, it's the cost of health care. Also, it turns out private health care plans often won't cover you if you're a pilot. So for the moment, I work both to cover the cost of flying and to get the relatively low priced health insurance an employer sponsored health care plan provides which does cover pilots.

    Family Inheritance?

Yeah. I never thought about it much during my life. I had a friend from HS who was literally just waiting for him Mother to die to get an inheritance. He was an only child so he got it all. I just thought it was kind of morbid. Got an inheritance from an Uncle I didn't know too well who lived in Maine. Probably wouldn't have gotten anything from him but he didn't have a will so the way the laws are up there it just happened. My Dad left a little but not too much. My Mother left the three of us a decent inheritance but of course she lived in CA and had owned her house since 1973 so the appreciation on that was huge over those 45 years. Like you are talking, it all just went in to a brokerage account. Makes retiring when I want to easier but otherwise not much change to my life. I appreciate the money obviously but it was never part of my plans.
  6. The Dems are the party of "the ends justify the means." Just ask @The Real timschochet, who thinks people should break any law he disagrees with.
  7. Oh please. As if you care about anyone but yourself.
  8. Maybe you should have sent her to private school like your father did for you.
  9. Nope. That should have been the answer for Obamacare, but Obama let the health care industry write the bill instead. If we'd started what I propose then we'd be that much further along on seeing those benefits and finding the shortcomings you allude to. So, the sooner we get going the sooner an actual solution will be in place. Throwing more money at a broken system isn't a solution, but it's all you EVER offer. The fact that you libs think subsidies that were passed during Covid as a TEMPORARY thing should be made permanent tells us all we need to know about how serious you are about dealing with this issue.
  10. Anal Bimbos. Do you really need 2 through 7? They're all pretty much the same and let's be real, no one watches more than 8 minutes of a porno at a time so Anal Bimbos 1 will last quite a while anyways. And by the time you finish it you can just start it over. It's not like you're going to remember it.

  14. Why don't we address the cost then instead of just giving those health insurance companies as much money as they want?
