Dain got the title track, so Ill take the last song on the last Beatles album ever released.

This song is the only one where someone other than John, Paul, George or Ringo were credited. Billy Preston was on piano.

The song was about immigration. It also had tranny undertones. (The second time that showed up in Sir Pauls lyrics - Obla Di Obla Da being the first time).

Yes I figured there would be some controversy about "Video", but I already looked it up and saw it was released in '79.....I was surprised.

 

I really wanted to get something from the tail end of the decade and thought it would be perfect since IT was the iconic song that kicked of the future (or so we thought) of Music.

Excellent......it was at the top of my ELO list, just didn't make it happen. This song has been really strong throughout the years on commercials & movies. The ELO Double Album "Out of the Blue" is my 2nd favorite only to "Time".

Sorry Voty,I was referring to the people who grew up in that era as it's the same discussion we had in the 80's,there are certain songs that are hits and resonate with millions but there are deeper cuts from those artists that also resonate with millions of others.Those three BOC songs were huge but for someone like me who grew up listening to BOC they're not even close to being their best three.There are no wrong or rights that's why music is so subjective and no chart in the world will ever change that.

I figured out why your "Roam" selection in the 80s draft was by far my favorite selection of all and shocked me. I was prepping a bit for the 90s draft and saw that it was released in December 1989, I was out of basic training and off in AIT, soon to deploy to Germany. While everything else rang a bell, I must have missed it entirely. That tail end of 89 was a good time to slip things past my notice. In a sense the same with anything before '82 when we got cable TV.
