cmh6476 1,025 Posted July 14, 2006 The Chiefs are doomed to have sh1tty defense for all of eternity. Why spend good money on Law when the defense will still suck. Embrace your suckiness, cmh. you know not of what you speak. The Chiefs Defense is gonna be good soon, mark my words. They've got some players and people are going to start noticing. Derrick Johnson, Kawika Mitchell, Jared Allen, Pat Surtain are all solid defensive players. And hopefully Tamba Hali and Bernard Pollard can come in and make an impact as rookies just as DJ did. And then we also have some guys we acquired in the secondary, and hopefully just one of those guys can step up and perform under our new coaching staff. I'd also look out for Keyaron Fox, which gives Gunther the opportunity once again to use the 3-4 like he was planning on doing last year. Key could also step up and supplant Kendrell Bell as the starting OLB, which wouldn't be much of a shock. Not to mention the focus on offense to help the defense stay off the field longer. Sounds like a winning formula in my book.

cmh6476 1,025 Posted July 14, 2006 Is this before or after the Royals have a better record than the Tigers? That I didnt believe, I just was wishful. This isn't wishful thinking, this is something I feel confident in. The run D was good last year, outside of the Tiki Barber debacle obviously. Now they'll start focusing on pressuring the QB, and I think we're gonna see marked improvement in our pass D this year. Just slight improvement anywhere on the field from last season and we'll find ourselves in the postseason.

cmh6476 1,025 Posted July 14, 2006 I don't really know what you're point is Shovel. I said the defense was going to be improved last season, and it was. You can't just take a turd and turn it into a golden egg overnight, brutha. KC turned it on at the end of last season, but it was too late. Had they beat Dallas or the Giants they would have been playing in January with your Bengals and the SB Champ Steelers. Another offseason of improvement, and once again I feel this team will be better. Look at how the Chiefs played SD and Cincy late in the year. That team looked dominating, and if they can take that mantra into this season, we'll be doing just fine. Now not to mention the Raiders just suck, and the Chargers are going into this year with basically a rookie at the helm. I just don't see anyone but the Broncos or Chiefs taking this division, and it won't surprise me to see both in the playoffs.

cmh6476 1,025 Posted July 14, 2006 Yeah, you could tell the Bungles really wanted to win that game. The Chiefs also manhandled San Diego, who was also fighting for their playoff lives. If fockin Detroit would have beat Pitt in week 17, we were in the playoffs. I HATE DUH-TROIT!!@#!# :fy: I am sure that Law will sign with the team with the best chance to win............................... so you think he'll be a chief too? cmh6476 1,025 Posted July 24, 2006 Herm I dont think there is any question that this is one of the best teams in the NFL, well balanced and quality all around. Now if we can just stay healthy and focused, this actually could be our year QB Trent Green RB Larry Johnson FB Kris Wilson/ Ronnie Cruz LT Willie Roaf LG Bryan Waters C Casey Weigmann RG Will Shields RT Kyle Turley TE Tony Gonzalez TE Jason Dunn DE Jared Allen DE Eric Hicks/ Tamba Hali DT John Browning DT Lionel Dalton/ James Reed (& much needed competition at this position going into camp) OLB Derrick Johnson MLB Kawika Mitchell OLB Kendrell Bell/ Keyaron Fox (and we will use the 3-4 this year, Bell being a much better ILB than OLB) CB Ty Law CB Pat Surtain SS Sammy Knight FS Greg Wesley/ Bernard Pollard PK Lawrence Tynes P Dustin Colquitt wow, just wow! BiPolarBear 485 Posted July 24, 2006 The Chiefs Defense is gonna be good soon, mark my words. The word "soon" in geological terms could mean 100,000 years. If we are talking about the Chief's defense, such constraints are no longer applied.
