Biden should deal with the border issue, but he’ll win anyhow.
Voltaire replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
That's beyond disappointing. It's vile. I teach promiscuous 8th grader girls. Most all of them have mental health issues around self esteem and come from broken homes with sh*tty parents or grandmothers that cannot control them. Adult males should keep the fock away from them, not waive off the matter or make the situation worse. -

Tim likely wouldn't be here if FBG hadn't imploded. He'd just made that one post because he caught wind that somebody was masqurading has him over here. Also, Tim honors his bets. The only one I know of was with EG and it concluded amicably. -
Conservatives demand immediate arrest of former FBI director James Comey after he 'called for assassination' of Trump

Do Republicans REALLY care about the debt?
Voltaire replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
This was always going to be a big problem for the GOP once it became apparent that they would have such narrow majorities in both chambers of Congress. Different factions want different things, some are hardline balanced budgeters. It will be an incredible balancing act on the part of Mike Johnson if he can thread the needle to find the votes to pull it off. -
Minneapolis and state leaders prepare for possible Derek Chauvin pardon
Voltaire replied to kilroy69's topic in The Geek Club
When I was a kid, I'd fractured my right arm. So I went to the hospital and it was brutal. The X-Ray tech had me laying on the arm in this position, then this position and that one and another. and I was in horrible pain each time I moved, with my bodyweight pushing on my broken arm. It was a miserable experience. Years later, it just so happens by coincidence that I was dating an X-Ray tech, and so I related to her this horrible story I had trauma in the X-Ray room when I was nine-years-old. She tells me how that's awful what they had one to me. They're taught that in the case of a suspected break or fracture, to X-Ray the patient standing up. Well, that sure made a hell of a lot of sense to me. Floyd had already been complaining about difficulty breathing BEFORE they knelt on him. Who thinks kneeling on a guy complaining that he can't breathe is a good idea and goes ahead and kneels on him anyway? Isn't there a second or third method available to get the guy to comply? It seems to me it would made sense to do whatever it is that is the policing equivalent of X-Raying him standing up. -

I agree. I was hoping for a lesser charge. But I am not going to bat for this guy, and certainly not this soon. He needs a good dozen years beyond what he would have gotten for manslaughter and willful negligence just to even start to consider re-opening this Pandora's box. Even the I'd say 'no' just to keep the peace if nothing else. -

I claim that Floyd's oxygen intake was impeded because it seems to me that his lungs' ability to expand and contract would have been seriously impaired due to them being squeezed between a ?190? (don't know Chauvin's weight) pound man and a concrete road for seven+ minutes. -
Jake Tapper admits he didn't cover Biden's cognitive decline enough, claims to 'look back on it with humility'
Voltaire replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
There was an election to win. Since Biden wasn't willing to step aside, they had to pretend he was fine in order to save the world from Orange Hitler. -

Voltaire replied to kilroy69's topic in The Geek Club
I'm sympathetic to the claim that Chauvin didn't get a fair trial. He didn't. But any second trial will have the exact same problems that the first did for the exact same reason. People are focking p*ssed at what happened to George Floyd and any second set of jurors will have to undergo the same treatment that the first set of jurors received. The case is just too big and what those jurors dealt with is the least bad as we can expect with any trial moving forward. In this case, I'm willing to accept that "they did their best to protect the jurors from outside influence" as good enough. I can't expect much more from a second set of jurors nor from a second set of security team expected to keep them sheltered from the anti-Chauvin mob. They won't get it any easier than the first group got. I also agree that he was overcharged. It was the fentanyl that killed George Floyd, not the kneeling. But I'm not going to bat for Chauvin for this because there was still a blatant disregard for Floyd's life. Floyd may well have died anyway, considering that he'd taken well over a lethal dose of fentanyl. But the man was already complaining that he couldn't breathe before he got knelt on. By all means arrest him. And if there is no way to increase oxygen intake, well that's also the breaks. Actively impeding oxygen intake was a blatant disregard for the man's life. Its not unreasonable to think there was a chance that he would have been able to survive his fentanyl overdose if he'd not been knelt on. Chauvin deserved some retribution for willful negligence if nothing else. On a practical level, the optics of pardoning such a high profile defendant as Chauvin is just political poison with no recognizable upside. -
I give Israel free reign to do whatever they do because I trust them as decent Western people with decent modern morals, unlike the people they are fighting against. It's well known that close to 100% of any aid that gets sent in to Gaza goes directly to Hamas since they are the ones with the guns. The reason it gets sent in anyways is that after they've taken theirs, then after the Hamas sympathizers get theirs, hopefully some will be left over for everyone else. They also deliberately chose to hide all their bases of operation under schools and hospitals because they are fighting a war against people who actually care about civilians and uses that compassion against them. Also, Hamas doesn;t mind using children as human shields because whoever dies in bombing raids, be it children or suicide bombers, its a valiant way to die, they all go to Islamic heaven because their cause is so very just and sanctioned by Allah.

Judge Hannah Dugan arrested by FBI for allegedly helping undocumented immigrant 'evade arrest
Voltaire replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
All Democrats Say Their Health Plan Would Cover Undocumented Immigrants (youtube.com) This is beyond the pale. US taxpayers should not subsidize the health care of illegal immigrants. This should be a non-starter. It makes HC so much mor expensive and the wait times for US citizens to go up like mad. You don't to set your country up as a magnet for illegal immigration by providing free stuff and no enforcement. No wonder things went crazy so quickly. This is/was one of many manufactured crisis by the United States' corporate mainstream left wing party. Democrats are always pullng things like this with huge negative side effect consequences due to poor planning. It is this mentality of subsidizing bad behavior that has made the Democratic Party toxic on not just immigration, but other issues as well, like a 40% out-of-wedlock birth rate because poorly designed welfare programs where we want to help the most needy bit funds are low so what that actually means that generous payments to single moms go away on marriage actually dis-incetivises marriages. -

Voltaire replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
Truthfully, until the last few years, I never much minded having peaceable illegal immigrants present even though they do drive down blue-collar wages, make housing more expensive, and take up resources and make waits longer in places like shelters and clinics for the needy. Obey every other law (other than the original sin of sneaking in) and ... eh... whatever. But things are so broken now because our good graces were taken advantage of and we absorbed way too many. I don't at all mind that large corrective measures are now being taken. Should be no welfare payments nor free stuff government subsidies, punishments for medium-to-large employers that hire illegals. There was a time not so very long ago when I would have supported things like the Dream Act and whatnot. But I am not in the mood to revisit that any time soon. Get rid of the hurdles keeping the gang-bangers here first. Then kick the gang bangers out. When we get to the point where the criminals are gone and we start turning our attention to deporting grandmas, I'll reevaluate the situation. -
He's never claimed to have Israeli citizenship as far as I know. (Correct me if I'm wrong Tim). But yeah, Jews living far from Israel criticizing Israel for trying to defend themselves have much in common (and in Tim's case overlap) with liberals in the US that advocate for open borders from their secure gates communities don't understand why the American Hispanics who live in the same neighborhoods Latino gangsters operate out of don't want Latino gangsters living in their neighborhood. It strikes me that every israeli citizen knows that should Israel ever lose a war, 100% of them would be slaughtered.

The first time you get deported should just be a ticket for nonviolent offender. If they sneak in again, hopefully a few years in that funhouse in el Salvador will cure them of the itch to try a third time. -

They should prepare for a meteor strike or alien invasion or that alleged dormant super volcano in Wyoming to explode instead.
