I think it's a reminder that Trump shouldn't get a pass for saying irresponsible and inaccurate things. His words carry great weight. He said on March 7th that anyone who wants a test can get one. And yet we are testing at a rate of 300 something per one million persons (South Korea testing at a 20x greater rate than us). https://www.statista.com/statistics/1104645/covid19-testing-rate-select-countries-worldwide/ Testing testing and more testing with isolation for specific individuals seems to be the consensus on how to reduce the impact of this virus most efficiently. If we as a country decide we need to just go back to work while the rest of the world is working on stopping the spread, how are we going to be allowed to travel to other countries? This isn't looking good for the US at all. Is this country just incapable of getting more tests? Or is the just let the private sector takes its time to figure out how to make bank on tests approach going to royally fock us? It's really a joke how little testing we are doing. But at least after we get hit harder than most countries we can hold our heads high and tell our grandkids that we never wavered from capitalism.

I feel you. My business is the same. Our movie rentals are just two of us no employees and depend on people using our service. We get nothing to stay a float

It is a difficult situation in many ways. This will not really help me much, although my wife might get a few extra sheckles in unemployment money. You have done well to build a business that is debt-free, but those who have not been so good will benefit from this stimulus. It is why these sorts of socialist things are not really fair and should be avoided. At least now, you have another option for loans should you need to sustain your business short-term to ride this out. You don't want to have worked your ass off only to have it all lost because of (what we hope to be) a short-term situation that was extraordinary. I think another thing for you is that it will help your customers and your suppliers. You need them solvent for a little while so that they can ramp back up their operations/buying once the dust settles from this.

We aren't shutting down the nation. Better/faster testing, as Fauci stated, will enable us to quarantine those who tested positive, and better identify those with whom they've been in contact, to isolate the appropriate people and/or hot spots. Other than things like international travel/border crossing, it makes no sense to shut things down at a federal level. Which is why it hasn't been done. Of course, things can change, but the above is my crystal ball based on reasonable risk mitigation.

He tunes into MSNBC to find out what he should be upset about each day, it couldn't be more obvious. Easter was a big hit today, I mean, how dare the President hope things are in better shape 3 focking weeks from now... Any time he's challenged to comment on something that puts his side in a bad light, he claims he doesn't care, doesn't know, or didn't pay attention then. Not my side.. His schtick is tired and boring. He's either the most naive person that visits this site or he has some sort of learning disability. Either way, massive waste of time.

Also, I just caught the end of the presser. CNN/DNC is jumping all over the Easter thing. I presume Trump said it. But this is how this works -- Trump says Easter, then Fauci and others come out and smooth the statement out: (1) that date is obviously flexible based on data as we get it, and to me more importantly, (2) the entire country isn't a shitstorm like NYC. We've got counties in AZ with 0 cases; if that stays 0 or very low in two weeks, should they continue to be shut down? This is why it is better managed on a state and lower level, with help as needed from the feds. I know you aren't liberal although pretty much everything you post is liberal, but I expect liberals to say "whaaa it's not fair, if NYC and Seattle are on lockdown, everyone needs to be on lockdown$#@!" I agree with Fauci and others that this is not the case. So I expect some easing in areas of the country by Easter if not sooner. It's like our economy died and will rise from the dead. Orange Jeebus FTW !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well yea, much better. Not many others can boast a “pretty much pro” ball career while simultaneously rising to the rank of major and “basically” running their own medical clinic despite no medical license of any kind at such a young age.

I understand she may need the work so you don’t want to flip them off. But I would absolutely phone that in to the local press and start an anonymous “name and shame” effort. Fock them.

Scumbags. Can’t be too angry at companies over layoffs and furloughs etc. Forcing employees to reapply and dropping their seniority is just a dirtbag way of reducing everyone’s income. Sorry to hear it.

    Wow. That’s some BS.
