I have learned a fair bit over the years and have taken many opinions to heart. I have bought vehicles based on recommendations of geek posters @DankNuggs for example, although he does not post here anymore. I presume you are referring to the Malacca and Sunda straights. The Malacca straight runs between Malaysia and the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The sunda runs between Sumatra and the island of Java. Pretty much all shipping traffic between Africa, the Middle East, and India to east Asia must pass through there, so yes, it is probably the most strategic stretch of water on earth. The Chinese know this, and know it is an easy way to cut off their oil. They have taken steps... namely... 1. Construction of naval bases in the Indian Ocean in places like Sri Lanka and Pakistan. 2. They are attempting to build rail and road links to lessen their reliance on this waterway. For example they are constructing ports in Myanmar and links to then transport resources overland from Myanmar into Chinese controlled Xinjiang. 3. I think you are right, honey is better than sugar, but I don't think it's the answer. It's still no bueno for me. I'm in the mud with insulin. Admittedly, I walk a fine line. A bunch of white rum with diet soda chasers. So food is very strict as the price to pay. I don't even eat fruit unless it's mostly bitter (lemon, lime, grapefruit). Stick to green vegetables full of fiber mostly, avoid the starchy corn and potatoes et al. I'd say peas, but I like fresh snow peas. So, diabetes. So I haven't had fast food nor sugar for close to 20 years now. Well, as little sugar as possible. Haven't had a slice of pizza in well over 20 years. I can't remember what a cheese steak tastes like. I'm self-flagellating myself. Chinese food is a challenge to prepare for me, as I like all the heat with the spicy peppers and garlic and savory items, and all the textures and flavors of the vegetables and other odds and ends, but you can't balance it out with any sugar in any sauces, so it remains difficult to pull out a decent dish. And try to avoid any type of noodles and rice. It's become somewhat cliche, but Sriracha is really versatile. But if I could find a dependable recipe for Hot and Sour Soup, I'd be a little bit less miserable.

I wanted to recommend by favorite Chinatown dim sum place but I cannot remember it’s name and I cannot find it on google maps. Maybe it closed down. On west side of Mott Street just off Barnyard (2 blocks off Canal Street (main road). It was in the basement of another restaurant- fantastic dim sum (except I didn’t know any better and ate chicken feet !!) - I’d eat anything LOL - guy rolled the cart around and I thought it looked good. Didn’t ask what it was until I saw the bill. LOL
