Brianna Wu: If I were in charge of the trans movement...

I don't care and am not talking about specific people who will never be satisfied, nor am I claiming that the rest of her statement covers EVERY main hot button issue regarding trans. My point was that you cherry picked their last statement about what the conversation can change to while leaving out the fact that the very person who made the statement has just finished explaining a list of things that they feel would help get us to that point.

Brianna Wu: If I were in charge of the trans movement...

Not really. You tried a "gotcha" with the focking question because yes, the answer is yes, it makes you ghey. But sexual preference is different than all the gender identity stuff, so the question really has nothing to do with what he chooses to call this person. I personally feel that trans is people playing make believe. Yet if I interact with someone I am going to call them she/her/miss etc or he/him/sir etc based on what I think they look like. I'm not the least bit concerned with not calling them their preferred pronouns, my point is I'm going to call them something and I may get it wrong compared to their biological sex. Doesn't make me ghey. I would also call this person a she if I just had a passing interaction. My reasoning is not as nuanced as Jerrys but I think it's fairly easy to understand unless someone needs to be purposely insensitive just for the sake of it.
  3. Would you call a 220 pound MMA trans woman a man to his face?

    Hey Weepaws!

Woman sues counsel for infringement on her Christian rights with trans pedestrian walkway.
  5. I wasn’t “cornered,” you made a stupid statement that adding a trans category wouldn’t make sports inclusive. Please explain how adding a trans category wouldn’t be more inclusive. Thanks in advance.
  6. What question are you taking about? When you said how was sports not inclusive before, I answered that Biles’ opinion seems to be that they should add a trans category.
  7. Wow! That's next gen incompetence right there. Like I said before, you need stop because no one has ever been more wrong on any topic, ever. #1 "Sports" and "Women's Sports"? There's a women's and men's division already, you can't make them more inclusive unless you allow men to play in women's sports and women to play in men's. #2 Gaines said suggested to have a trans category. Biles apparently agrees with her. I don't think it's a stupid idea, I just don't think it'll work because of... a) biological women will not want to compete against biological men and 2) there wouldn't be enough representation in each sport. If I grant you that I am an idiot, then what does make you... AS: 1) Gaines and Biles agree that men shouldn't be allowed in sports. 2) Gaines and Biles agree that a possible solution would be to make them their own category. 3) Gaines was an actual victim (men playing in women's sports were NOT). 4) Other biological women were and are, actual victims, not the men playing in women's sports). So, Biles and Gaines agree.. Biles calls out Gaines and acts like a douche, and you agree with her. So, what's that make you and Biles?
  8. Seems Biles’ opinion is that they should have a trans category.
  9. She said make “SPORTS” inclusive, not “WOMEN’S sports.” Her suggestion is to create a trans category. It’s a stupid idea, but she’s not saying to allow biological males in women’s sports. Holy fock you’re dumb.
  10. No, you are inferring things into her statement that she didn’t actually say. So, you’re making things up per usual. Edit: Funny that you draw that conclusion but will still refuse to admit that Gaines is against trans people as a whole and not just in sports.
  11. A few reasons, none of which you'll agree with. 1. I believe a small subset of trans people have gender dysphoria. Brianna pre-dates the social contagion, when trans people who medically transitioned were thoroughly vetted to have the disease. 2. She also medically and surgically transitioned, so she presents as a she. We can argue whether or not people should do this, or if we should instead work on addressing the mental illness (I've made this latter argument multiple times). But, she did it. 3. As my quote indicated, she's just trying to live out life, not inject herself into women's sports etc. Given all of the above, I'm comfortable calling Brianna she/her. I don't believe she is some sexual predator guy looking to rape girls in the bathroom; she doesn't even have a cack anymore. Someone like Leah Thomas meets none of the criteria I listed, so I'm fine referring to Leah as he/him. HTH
  12. I thought you said Biles only apologized for her personal attacks on Gaines, and not her stance on trans athletes. Gaines here, is talking about Biles' stance on trans athletes (to wit, Biles did NOT apologize for).

Elon says that Trump is in the Epstein files.

Or a trans playing high school field hockey in Tulsa.
  14. Tim is doing exactly what @TBayXXXVIIaccused him of in the trans softball thread. We were talking about warning shots, Tim lost yet another discussion, so now he's trying to move the goalposts to journalists and doctors. I'd ask him if this means he concedes he has nothing on the murderous shooting sprees at the aid stations, but he wouldn't respond. 200 journalists! Or, maybe 3? And maybe 1 of them wasn't working directly with Hamas.
  15. Well, she's old school trans, from before the social contagion. Also, it's pretty clear from her tweet, and other things I've heard her say, that she is very concerned that people like her -- people with gender dysphoria who have medically transitioned -- are at risk of losing access to the medicines they require because of the things mentioned in the tweet: social contagion, transing the kids, men in women's sports and safe spaces.

Brianna Wu: If I were in charge of the trans movement...

What makes her influential? Maybe she doesn't know that trans people are an existential crisis to the country?

Brianna Wu: If I were in charge of the trans movement...

Though I disagree with your view here it makes me think there may be room for compromise. But I’m not sure. So I would like you to be specific about the only aspect of this that truly matters: what kind of legislation that in any way touches on or restricts trans would you support? What kind of legislation would you oppose?
  18. I'm talking about the increase, not trans in general. I have posted multiple times that I believe there are a small subset of trans people who have gender dysphoria. To that end, it disappoints me that a lot of folks (including this site) don't agree, and just jump on the "boys can't be girls" wagon. I think Brianna presents an excellent path to getting to an accurate and reasonable place. Which is basically where we were 10-15 years ago, when sanity ruled the day. But @The Real timschochetchooses to believe political groups instead of reality, and @squistion seems to believe whatever Kyle Griffin says, but he knows best.
  19. I know you will claim I’m arguing semantics but I think your commentary mischaracterizes her comments a bit. Your comment: the trans movement is largely a social contagion Her quote: The rates of trans children have exploded and much of this almost certainly social contagion Seems to me she is only talking about the “increase” in the number of trans folks, but it sounds like you’re talking about trans folks in total. Can you clarify? Do you think kids being trans as a whole is a “social contagion”?
  20. Thank the OP for the laugh, he edited "transexual movement" to "trans movement" and figured no one would notice.

Brianna Wu: If I were in charge of the trans movement...

Thanks Jerry, but I don’t care. To me it’s like having a Jew deny the Holocaust. Some have (famously, Bobby Fischer) but that doesn’t take away the truth of the event. Kanye West has argued that American chattel slavery was a good thing. Shall I consider his comments on the subject to be more merit worthy than others because he is a black man? I don’t. I didn’t have any personal opinion on the question of the explosion of the number of trans people until quite recently. What I read, from most medical experts and psychiatrists and psychologists, is that it’s a result of people feeling free to express their innermost feelings, that the same numbers were always there but hidden. This intuitively made sense to me. I also read a minority of opinion that it was a “social contagion.” Since this opinion was mostly spread from people whom I judged to be bigoted against trans (and before that bigoted against homosexuality) I treated this minority opinion with a great amount of skepticism. I still do. But in the end I regard this as a scientific question, equivalent to the best way to land an airplane. When the majority of experts change their opinion on this subject I will as well.
  22. No. It was relevant to the sentence I quoted, which Wu wants to “change the conversation to.” I had never heard of Wu before today, but she is described by you as “influential in the trans community.” And she has had multiple posts showing her disdain for Gaines, who is probably one of the most well-known people that is “dehumanizing to trans people.”

Brianna Wu: If I were in charge of the trans movement...

It's not just trans, but I would say a good portion of them are. Let's say 40% or more. I mean, they're mentally ill. There is no way you're NOT considering your mind is fighting your biology. They'll never be able to change that and the fact that they THINK they can is clearly someone who is not stable. What they are is gay, not trans. Trans is just a term to hide from the fact that they can't admit they're gay.
  24. So all trans folks are disgusting and violent?
  25. Speaking of that sentence, for the people that claim Riley Gaines “just wants men out of women’s sports,” here is Wu’s opinion of Ms Gaines: https://x.com/BriannaWu/status/1817169816626553245 I appreciate the increasing frequency of these comments from Riley because it gives away her game. Yes, it’s reasonable to have a public policy discussion about trans people and women’s sports. But her political project doesn’t stop there. She’s disgusted by LGBT people and wants to eliminate them from public life. This is, of course, anti-American and anti-democratic.
