This person used a male name for crimes and because she was schizophrenic, no evidence they were actually a tranny. The Colorado Springs shooter did not “identify as non binary” until after the shooting. The trial showed there was no evidence they were actually non-binary. I mean c’mon, he couldn’t even fully commit to the act by actually claiming to be trans, so he went with “non-binary” I did not see any claims until recently (for a shooting that occurred in 2018) that the Aberdeen shooter was trans. The Nashville shooter was trans. These others were not based on the information we have available. If you insist I’ll give you the Iowa one but even that is a gray area. They may have been thinking about transitioning but had not yet. -

For the first time EVER. I am not a Republican. What I am is tired of the Democratic parry. Tired of Trans rights. Tired of being told I get special treatment for being a white male while I work my ass off. Tired of seeing the youth of this country be brainwashed. Tired of the media being blatantly liberal and democratic leaning. Tired of having to tell straight white male candidates no simply because the company wants to hit their DEI goal of LITERALLY ANYONE but them. I have been an independent all my life. I voted for Ross Perot, Ralph Nader and Gary Johnson. I even voted TWICE for Obama because the Republican candidates just did not do it for me. Since the time I last voted the Democratic party has made it clear to me they do not want me in their party. I am the devil. I am privileged because I have a low chance of being shot by the cops during a traffic stop. Because people who look like me enslaved blacks 200 years ago and now IIIIIII need to pay the price. The democrats are getting exactly what they deserve for letting a small fraction of their party drive them into a bloodbath. If they can get back to the center they will be able to recover. If not we may be a 1 party system for a long time going forward. The craziest thing about ALL of this is that the DNC created Trump. THEY did this. Donald Trump should never be a thing. He NEVER wanted to be president or thought he could be president. I am 100 percent convinced he wanted to add another title to his name. "Former presidential contender" something he could hang his hat on forever. Thennnnn the DNC in their INFINATE wisdom saw him as a weak opponent and instead of putting their weight behind the BEST candidate they pushed who THEY wanted in Clinton. Bernie would have SMOKED Trump. I have zero doubt. THIS time they tried to sneak one by the American people(which some people are likely to be prosecuted on this for conspiracy) and run a focking vegetable. Then they pivoted to an unlikeable DEI hire who was not smart enough to separate herself from biden and his policies. The Democrats deserve what they get. They brought it all on themselves through bad policies and just dumb move after dumb move.

The thread is filled with the usual slurs and jokes towards trans people, denial of bigotry against them, false charges of pedophilia, and denunciations of San Francisco and other “liberal” cities. Almost none of it has to do with the issue at hand. So let’s get back to that issue: transgender people, especially teenagers, are made to feel unwelcome in many parts of this country. They are beaten up, abused, told they are mentally ill, told they are perverts, laughed at, spat upon, made outcasts (sometimes from their own family) etc. This is no different from how homosexuals who dared to openly reveal themselves were treated 50 years ago. At that time San Francisco was one of the few places in the entire country where it was generally safe to be openly gay. That didn’t come overnight. Brave leaders like Harvey Milk had to struggle against the authorities, particularly the San Francisco police force, to bring that about. But eventually he succeeded and San Francisco became a haven for gays. Now they have chosen to extend that haven to trans people. And over again I say good for them. It shouldn’t be necessary, but that’s where we are. -

The one guy on CNN perfectly sums up why the dems lost. He would literally not listen to the idea that normal people do not believe a boy can be a girl or a girl can be a boy. He melts down at just the suggestion of it. He goes out of his way to mention that polling has not shown that trans issues were one of the reasons they lost. Yet conveniently there was no question regarding that issue on the exit polls. -
Problem is, you can't anymore. The recent links talk about councilors being pressured to rubber-stamp any kid who thought they might be trans. This is part of how posters like @squistionand @The Real timschochet "conclude" that the "vast" majority of experts support transing the kids. The story has been laid out, for any who care to understand it. Europe had a study which showed positive results for medical intervention, so that became the norm. Problem was, that study used very carefully culled patients who had gone through rigorous counseling, not anyone who felt trans that day. After some time doing that, they've come to realize that that was a big mistake, and most if not all of those countries have significantly pulled back on such interventions. The US was eager to jump into the woke part of this story (the initial, mistaken part) but seems reticent to learn the second half from Europe, instead apparently being willing to screw up its own children and learn that way. Folks like Tim and Squis will sit here and say with a straight face that this astronomical increase in trans-identifying kids is all real, and all they needed was a welcoming society. The future will show how wrong this is, but they'll sit here with goofy smiles and say oops, oh well, we meant well, which I'm sure they do. That's one of the perils of liberal ideology, it just sounds so darn nice, even when it isn't.

Maybe Tim is intimately familiar with rural Oklahomans and their attitudes and practices vis a vis trans folks. Maybe he has experienced the violence first hand. I don't think you can discount his perspective absent exploring the basis for it. Maybe he was in an all trans cast of the musical Oklahoma actually touring Oklahoma and he recieved cruel reviews, poor service at restaurants, and was pushed around by ruffians at the mall while trying to find a pair of pumps which would fit, you don't know so maybe hold your judgment until you do Mister man. -

It's not worth the risk. I don't trust Republicans, but if they are anti trans care for kids and anti men in women's sports, they will be better than 100% of democrat candidates that support those issues.

It's categorically false, of course, because every country except the US are walking back all of the trans nonsense that was pushed previously. Not only have we NOT had "decades of positive research" and the science is FAR from settled on this, but also it's coming out that it actually DOES NOT help as trans people are still killing themselves at the same rates pre and post change. -

Yep, and the dipshit 48 percent that voted Kamala don't get it. I kind of doubt half of Trump voters actually get it. The leftist authoritarians control the inter-workings of every executive branch agency. That is more powerful than some president who comes in every 4 years who is overwhelmed with other issues to even remotely understand what is going on in the depths of these organizations. These agencies in turn control the mega monopolistic corporations. These giant corporations can either playball or be destroyed. Organizations which have succumbed to this power include: - Hollywood - Publishers - mainstream media/network TV - Oil & Energy Corproations - Food corporations - Big Pharma - Military Complex - Big Tech (social media, search, YouTube) - Dem/GOP (prior to 2024 Trump) - Universities - banking Trump/Elon/RFK jr. are the biggest threat to this elite establishment since JFK. That is why they are vigorously attacked. This is not really a left vs. right thing. None of these bastards give a crap about abortion or trans issues or race or immigration. Those are divider issues to distract us from the elites complete takeover of power. If Dem voters really understood this they would abandon their party. But they still trust the above institutions.

Who competes in the trans women category? Other trans women, aka biological males. They are still essentially competing against other males, they have NO advantage. I am not saying that this is the ONLY reason they want to complete in bio-female categories, however they are probably less likely to win against other trans women. Especially if their hormone levels are all at specific levels determined by the sport...BUT...you have one dude that started transitioning in his teens vs the one in his 20s..and the one in his 20s will already have SOME biological advantage. They are still (in the most basic sense) bio-men competing against bio-men. They just call themselves women. This isn't really difficult to understand from my perspective. They can call themselves the giraffe category, who gives a fock. It's about strength, speed, fitness, muscle, height, weight...you put someone naturally bigger and stronger against someone who isn't and you know who is going to win. This is why for years and years bio men have been faster and stronger than bio females...across nearly EVERY sport. It's like the Lia Thomas/Riley Gains thing. Lia Thomas is 6'1". Riley Gains is 5'9". Take away everything else, and Lia already has an advantage in the pool. Lia went from 555th in mens swimming to 36th in women's. Lia isn't going to want to complete with other trans-females and go back to being mid to back of the pack. Would you? -
I never “fought tooth and nail” over “the T stuff”. Frankly I think it’s harmful to our kids. If a person is actually trans there should be empathy and acceptance but this thing where every high schooler is confused about their basic identity is not good

Again I'll point out I'm an independent. For me it isn't leave those people behind- it's about what issue will get a person in the room for you. A blue collar voter in WI/MI/PA doesn't give a damn about a transwoman playing in a woman's sport. They aren't for or against it necessarily- they just don't care....and I live in PA in a very blue collar county so I know these people. So trying to appeal to them with that messaging is silly. But if you say to them "Hey- 10% tax cut on your earnings" they will listen to what you have to say. Get them in the room, give them the tax cut, and then you can do the trans stuff if you really want to. People only care about issues that affect them personally in most cases. Lots of people here on both sides are not gay. So someone saying "Hey gay people should have a/b/c" doesn't land. Because if gay people don't have those things it won't affect that poster here personally. LGBTQIA+ should have all rights that anyone else has but it is less than 8% of the population. Money issues affect everyone. The one commercial that played a ton here in PA (I presume nationally it was there as well but here it was like during every program ) was one that dealt with LGBTQIA+ issues and ended with "Kamala's agenda is for They/Them, not you" and I just thought- that is a brilliant tagline.

big thumbs up for the mandate the Republicans earned. Good to see @timschochet was wrong again with his multiple predictions this election cycle. Gotta get Alito and Thomas to "retire" so Trump can appoint two younger justices. Cut all foreign aid to countries that hate us. Cut all other foreign aid by 10% or more. Invest that at home. Who becomes Senate leader? I want Paul. Start deportation of illegal aliens. Get Russia and Ukraine to the table. No more money to the Ukraine. We've done enough. Keep making inroads with the Latino and AA voting base. No more Trans in women spaces. No "swamp" appointments in his cabinet. The only one I'm ok with is Pompeo. Turn Tulsi, RFK Jr and Musk loose on waste and other departments. Lot of work to do. -
So transgenders threaten your gender identity and sexual preferences? If they have, perhaps you should explore these things instead of suppressing it. You'd be a mentally healthier person. I don't agree with transgender women competing in women's sports. They should have their own category, same with women who identify as men. It kind of ends here with me. Men, women, transgender men, transgender women. You can't have too much sports, right? I support legal action if trans women are discriminated against because of who they are. Women fought for the right to vote, equal pay and the right to chose what they do with their bodies. Ultra conservatives have taken away that last part in so many places in our country, and shame on them for doing so. You confuse "mutation" with what has been around since the dawn of mankind. It's just not as oppressed and discriminated against. I love me. You choose to be a heterosexual man, so be fine with me being a trans woman, and we'll all get along just fine. It's all good in the humanity hood. Love wins!

A couple of thoughts on this: - I wouldn't call it Bathroom for the Mentally Ill, I'll stick with "non-gender". - It's important to the progressives that women "deal" with it, which is to say, learn to love it. As has been pointed out before, there aren't that many trans people, so a single non-gender bathroom should be more than sufficient to meet their needs. But that isn't enough, it needs to be embraced, and trans women (biological men) need to feel 100% accepted, after all. - Anyone who thinks that individual doored stalls is the same as a row of urinals does not understand queuing theory. Airport bathrooms are mostly empty, except when flights land, when there is a rush to use them. Removing urinals will likely create some... issues with this.

Golden One Center in Sacramento has gender neutral restrooms. I had to go really bad once and I was not willing to wait in the ladies room line, so I used one. It had a commode as well as a urinal, BFD. One room, locking door, so one person at a time, which I kind of felt was more of a waste of space, but whatever. I think it had a changing table too, so def more of a "family" restroom, but with a new name tag. I got a couple of weird looks when I came out, that's for sure. But in my mind, they are use for everyone. I needed to go. If they are ONLY for trans, then call them trans. Gender neutral implies ANYONE can use them. In terms of smell, bathrooms smell. Meh.
