Do you want to drop one less so you'll have 22?

I would prefer a 5th round pick over these lames, but I'll keep Parker if its your preference.

It's really up to you if you want 22 or 21 players. My guess is you'd probably drop him anyway during the draft.

Do we get a compensatory pick for every guy over 4 we drop?

Good question, and one of the reasons I offered dz his preference.

O now has five picks. So he either needs to drop to 21 or he gives up his pick 4.04. So, O, Parker or 4.04?

What happened in your cases where you drafted a 5.01 in both 2004 and 2003? Did you have to drop a player before the draft started or as you picked?

In my cases, I had traded away a pick and only had 3 draft picks. I still waived 4 players to get down to 22, I just had a compensatory pick to get to 26 players after the draft.

At the present moment, I believe I'm in line for the same thing this year.

I think you had 7 picks in one draft and 5 in another.

1) everybody has to drop to 22

2) if you have more then 4 picks, you can lose the extra pick(s) or drop down to 21 (or less) (or a combination if you've got at least 6 picks)

3) if you have fewer than 4 picks, you get an extra 5th round pick (based on last year's standing if more than one team qualifies for this)

4) we start the draft with everyone having picks + players = 26

If I had 7, it was pick swapping during the draft... ie: I drafted Winslow and immediately traded him to Wilzone for a pick.

We always have 22 before the draft, and we always have 26 after the draft. I thought that was the basic premise to everything?

Ok, so now I'm confused. O has 6 picks according to the draft thread -- doesn't that put him at 27 total players after the draft?

26-4

Parker, Griffin, Jurevicious, Morris

=22-1

T.O.

=21 + 6

=27?

:first:

Just curious.

I think it's already been decided that he's cutting three from his 25 current players and losing the 4.04 pick (his 5th selection). The 5.01 - no idea why it's there.

There is no 5.01. DZ needs to edit that.

Dan traded Croom for Owens then cut Croom.

I chose to cut Parker rather than lose 4.04.

My roster is presently at 21 + 5 picks

I see no possible reason why I would want to keep any of the following...

Jerry Rice

Jeff Blake

Richie Anderson

STL Def

How sad is it to see Jerry Rice and Jeff Blake on the same cut list?

What do you mean by 'initial' or 'subject to change'?

This is more like an official place to post the cuts.

That's incase Emmitt un-retires, then I wouldn't dare let him go.

Didn't we learn from the Ricky fiasco that you can't unretire for at least a year or something like that? :bench:

Just to be difficult, I'll just cut one guy right now:

Vinny Testaverde, QB, DAL

McCown

Eddie George

Can I send the Soldier to the Army (injured) Reserves yet? If not, also drop Jay Fiedler.

ETA: Sorry, Brain fart. Since I can't send the soldier to IR, Drop Dorsey.

IR RULE

Only two IR spots allowed on one roster at a time.

A player can only be IR'd if OUT, PUP, or IR'd by the NFL.

Once a player is IR'd that player can not be used on any team's active roster for the duration of the current season.

After the playoffs and before the last MNF game in NFL Week 17, IR spots must be empty, thus dropping players on a roster equal to those spots used on a team's IR.

If IR spots are not released on time, the league will vote on which players to drop on a particular team. The vote will last 48 hours!

I don't believe the NFL has released an IR schedule yet. So you'll have to cut someone else, NOT FIELDLER twice.
