squidfinger 0 Posted May 11, 2006 Worst missions on GTA San Andreas? That ridiculous hobby shop with all those remote control airplanes and helicopters and crap.... good lord I'm getting tired of getting my ass kicked because I can't drive the helicopter none too good. No ######! I beat the game, but never finished those missions. They're just abominable, horrible mission design, horrible controls, and not fun. Plus Zero is annoying. How those missions ever made it through the Quality Testing is beyond me....

brinett9 0 Posted May 15, 2006 Having played more COD2 online, I'm starting to feel that it's a bit too snipey. The game makes the rifle bullet about 3 or 4 times as lethal as a submachine gun bullet, which seems an exaggeration. The game would be greatly improved if it had weapon set restrictions so that using a submachine gun wasn't a one way ticket to getting your ass shot off. brinett9 0 Posted May 15, 2006 Here's my E3 summary. Feel free to reply with your own take. 1. PS3 expensive. Lots of pre-rendered trailers being shown which are intended to look like actual gameplay but are not. 2. Halo3 in 2007. Trailer is quite dull. All drama, nothing of the game to really show yet. 3. Gears Of War getting lots of attention as a new flagship 360 game. Due out Holidays 2006. 4. Nintendo pimping a strong lineup for the Wii launch.
brinett9 0 Posted May 15, 2006 I'm gegtting more interested in Chromehounds for the 360, Due out late June. It's a tactical mech warrior shooter with six on six XBox Live matches. Customizeable battle machines and 115 maps. I don't see anything else coming out before Fall that really excites me.

Snuff 10 Posted May 18, 2006 I'm a pc gamer exclusively. I tend to look for WWII games. The most fun I have had was with WWIIOnline. It's one of those massively multiplayer games that you have to pay monthly for, but with that comes many ongoing updates to the game, based on what the developers want, and they also rely heavily on consumer feedback. It's a really fun game if you're into WWII. Graphics aren't great, they are outdated by maybe 5 years, but the gameplay and overall fun factor were great imo. Gives you a chance to drive almost any WWII era tank, fly any plane, sail boats/subs, play as many types of infantry, all while playing on the same gigantic map. You could strafe tanks/trucks with planes, shoot down planes with AA, blow up tanks/bridges with engineers, etc.... Haven't played in about a year but the game is still going strong. Once I get a new pc, I'll probably sign back up. You need a really good pc to play it, and those on dial up can play just as well as those on broadband. The creators made it this way. The map is huge, 1/4 the actual size of Europe. You can fly across the English Channel and it takes about 10 minutes or so. Really fun playing with a bunch of your friends. You could drive a truck and tow other people as thay logged on as an anti-tank gun. You can multicrew all vehicles. They made this game with physics in mind when discussing trajectory and armor thickness, etc... Stukas fly like stukas should, 109's fly like they should. They have roving spawn points, or you can just spawn into any certain city. Fun stuff.
brinett9 0 Posted May 30, 2006 Played several Madden 06 X360 games over the weekend. Saw a few noticeable slowdowns in rainy conditions, but overall I found it very enjoyable; better than previous versions. The option to find plays by play type rather than formation is HUGE. Very nice improvement. Can't wait for Madden 07. 3D grass, baby!

GobbleDog 996 Posted May 31, 2006 I recently hooked up my PS2 on-line!!!! I used to consider myself pretty good at Madden football. Most of my friends refused to play me because I always beat them. So I couldn't wait to play on-line and have an unlimited number of people willing to get beat. Well.... I've been humbled.. Most of those guys have offensive plays that seem damn near un-defendable. And defensively they can stop you almost every time. Corners and lineman are shifting everywhere... I never knew you could do most of that stuff. A couple guys could even blocked every punt attempt I made. I didn't know it was even possible to block punts... well it is. And the game keeps up with your on-line record too..... I'm 5-21. It's frustrating to suck so bad. Heck, I'm 34 y.o. Most of those dorks I'm playing are probably only 12 or so.

GobbleDog 996 Posted May 31, 2006 Anyone have any game recomendations for playing PS2 on-line? I played Battlefront II a few times and I thought it was very similar to the Battlefield 1942 on the PC. 20+ people running around killing each other. Although I'm not very good at the controls, so I get smoked quickly and everything is a little hectic. Any other good recomendations out there?

Electric Mayhem 35 Posted June 13, 2006 Hmmm. 14 days later and still no recomendations. It's cool. I can wait. You need to find a game where they have "ghey n00b" areas for those over 30. It sounds like you are getting your arse kicked all over the inter-net.
GobbleDog 996 Posted June 13, 2006 You need to find a game where they have "ghey n00b" areas for those over 30. It sounds like you are getting your arse kicked all over the inter-net. It's true. My current on-line Madden Football record ... something like 12-44. I can tell as soon as we start the game whether I'm going to the crap kicked out of me or if it will be competitive. If they start shifting linebackers and moving cover guys everywhere... I know I'm f'd.
brinett9 0 Posted July 14, 2006 Just got Chrome Hounds (360). It's a mech warrior game. I'm really liking the single player game. It's all outdoors, so it's less claustriphobic than some earlier mech warrior games where you're always fighting in a phone booth. I hear the online servers are having a few problems, which is not surprising for a new game launch where online play is a big component.

Also, on offense, use the playmaker stick to switch your run plays to the defense's vulnerable side at the last second, and keep your QB in the pocket when passing. Also, on offense, use the playmaker stick to switch your run plays to the defense's vulnerable side at the last second, and keep your QB in the pocket when passing. Updated record - 28 wins 85 losses. I've learned that one of the big reasons I keep losing is I run too much. I tried playing some games where I threw on nearly every down and I did much better. But I hated playing like that. I like breaking lose for a long run every once in a while. Oh well, screw it. I just bought a bad assed new computer and now I'm back on the Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam games. Without a doubt - the greatest on-line games ever made!!! brinett9 0 Posted July 17, 2006 Have been playing Chromehounds a lot. Good, but not great, game. The gameplay is pretty simple, but it seems to be one of those games where a good game concept is enough. The explosions and smoke are very very good. Building and tweaking your own custom mech is fun. There are many different parts you can use, and you have to make trade-off decisions to build yourself a sweet ride. Reviews rating it about a 6.5 - 7.0 out of 10.0 seem to be on target.

RicemanX 20 Posted August 10, 2006 Anyone play FEAR on the pc? Is it any good? Thinking about buying it... Yea, definitely a recommended game for first person shooter gamers. brinett9 0 Posted August 11, 2006 Just downloaded the 'Dead Rising' demo. It's a zombie-slaying game. Got an 8.3 review from IGN. Played the demo (X360). Great fun. Gonna buy the game tomorrow. No multiplayer, which is a bummer, but the mall environment is beautiful and there's so much stuff you can pick up in the stores to try to kill zombies with. And the blood. There's so much blood. It's like 'phillybear goes shopping.' The controls are a little odd. When you go to "aim view", you aim with the left stick, not the right like every other game. It just takes a few minutes of getting used to. Highly recommended for those who enjoy mindless zombicidal fun.

brinett9 0 Posted August 15, 2006 MADDENOLIDAY is just one week away! Also, I killed 3000 zombies in my first run through Dead Rising. Cleaning out the Home Depot store is the most fun.
Electric Mayhem 35 Posted August 15, 2006 Neverwinter Nights 2 is coming out for PC. Looks prety cool. It is 'stronghold' based, where you can find an old beat up abandoned castle, get NPCs to join you and build it up into a stronghold. Great idea. They have a preview at IGN.
