ShaneFalco 0 Posted April 10, 2006 Bills sign WR Price to one-year contract Ticker 4/10/2006 ORCHARD PARK, New York (Ticker) - Peerless Price is back at the place where he enjoyed his most success. The Buffalo Bills signed the wide receiver to a one-year contract on Monday. A second-round pick of the Bills in 1999, Price recorded 232 catches for 3,302 yards and 22 touchdowns in 64 games with Buffalo. Price's best year came in 2002 when he had 94 receptions for 1,252 yards and nine scores. However, Price was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2003 after making exorbitant salary demands. In two seasons with Atlanta, Price managed 109 catches for 1,413 yards and six touchdowns before being released for salary cap purposes. Price signed with the Dallas Cowboys last season and caught just six passes for 96 yards in seven games before being released again.
famousb 11 Posted April 10, 2006 Didn't ATL cut him two years ago because they said he was blind or something?? seriously, didn't he have some sort of degenerative eye condition??

Bills | Price contract update Mon, 10 Apr 2006 15:10:35 -0700 Updating previous reports, ESPN.com reports Buffalo Bills WR Peerless Price signed a four year deal with the team worth over $10 million. There are also additional incentives in the contract for Price if he becomes the team's No. 1 receiver. didn't the Bills get fed up with him failing to live up to expectations? wasn't Price expected to take over as the #1 in Buffalo at one point? What a bizarre signing... Actually, Price blew his load during a contract year. The Bills franchised him, and worked out a trade with Atlanta.

What a bizarre signing... No, No, and Yes... I don't know about this. For one thing Price has always been overrated. Second he is a deep threat, and now 3 of the Bills' best 4 WRs are of that mold. They need a big target, not another speedster. Man, Marv keeps going in the wrong direction, as far as my confidence goes. I hope this draft goes well, or the Bills may lose the "Bush Bowl" 2006 in week 5.
Deadpool 0 Posted April 10, 2006 CNN/SI is reporting this is a 4-year, $10 million dollar deal......... If that's true, the Bills have lost their minds......... On this the same day that owner Ralph Wilson is complaining about having a lack of money to compete with the big boys because he plays in a small market. If I was a Bills fan, I think I would be pulling all of my hair out right about now. You can't complain about the market for player being overpriced when you go out and over spend (really over spend) for a WR that you knew 3 years ago you didn't want anymore. Incredible. miket7 0 Posted April 11, 2006 I'm going to go against the grain here and say that I like the Peerless Price signing. He is a lot better than people give him credit for. I watched him for his whole career in Buffalo. Every season he was getting better and better, and then in the last year of his contract, he finally exploded and made a big name for himself. In fact, for anyone that recalls that offseason, he was the biggest FA wide receiver on the market. The Bills wanted to keep him (thus the franchise tag), but Atlanta wanted him worse, and was willing to give up a #1 draft pick for him. Since the Bills had lost their #1 pick for that year already in the Bledsoe-New England trade, they decided it was smarter to let him go. For the next two years, Price had Michael Vick throwing to him. His stats quickly plummeted, he became unknown and his contract became too big for his production. BUT, let me repeat... He had Michael Vick throwing to him. (Enough said) Last year, he joined the Cowboys at mid-season and never had a chance to work his way into their offense. Basically, what I'm saying, is that Price is still a young talented receiver...who has shown Pro-Bowl potential with a mediocre quarterback (Bledsoe). Give him a chance. adam smitty 0 Posted April 11, 2006 Dangit, I was hoping Roscoe Parish would get a chance this year but it looks unlikely now. Do the bills expect Price to be what he used to be for them? I seriously doubt it.

I seriously doubt it. Good point. I forgot all about Roscoe, who showed some flashes last year. All I know is that they have no big target. I wish they would have grabbed Keyshawn instead of Worthless Price. How much more did Keyshawn cost Carolina?

Funny how the Cowboys CUT him last year. So much for pro-bowl with bledsoe? First of all, dude can barely see. His eyes are about 80 years old. TWO teams told him to go home last year. Wow that screams pro-bowl. Second, I saw him play every game with Vick. Vick was not the problem. Price is a joke. He's not a #1 on any team. He's not even a good #2. He's lazy on his routes. He gives up on balls. He's not that fast anymore. And couldn't even make it as the Cowboys #3 WR. The Bills are a mess. They have two 90 year old men running the show. Neither one of them has a clue what year it is, let alone how to build an NFL team. They grossly overpaid for a horrible WR. And since you're such a big Bills fan, maybe you forgot who your QB is? *lol* Yeah that screams probowl to me. Lets hear your projections for Price, I need a good laugh. RoadLizard 73 Posted April 12, 2006 Wow, the once highly-competitive and proud franchise of the Bills has really deteriorated to the point of no return. Let's Review: - Has not had a good O-line in 10 years. - Has not had a good QB since Kelly.... JP LOSERMAN sucks by the way. - Travis Henry and Mcgahee are both "wad-shoot" backs that will give you 2-3 good seasons and thats it. - WR's have been mediocre at best, Pointless price...great....great move guys.... - Defense always overachieves and they cant even count on that anymore. - Front Office being run my Marv Levy is a joke.... he'll be too busy reciting Shakespeare instead of signing quality free agents and having good drafts. - Owner is a dinosaur, cheap-ass that just cant compete in todays cut throat, unloyal marketplace. God Luck Bills fan.....

All I'm saying is that the Bills really needed some wide receiver depth, especially with the loss of Eric Moulds. And as little as three years ago, Peerless Price was considered one of the best up and coming receivers in the NFL. He might be worth the risk. He might not. I'm not going to make projections, because I'm looking at this from the perspective of a Bills fan...not a fantasy owner. And I have no idea who will be playing quarterback for us this year (Holcomb, Losman, Nall), and it doesn't really matter. We still needed receiver depth. Um yeh. Run with that.

Portis26 0 Posted April 13, 2006 I'm not sure why everyone gets all caught up in the numbers... he wont make 10 million dollars... not even close... its a 1 yr deal with loads and loads of incentives... it is bascially a 1yr deal at league minimum with potnetial risers if he is: Pro Bowl selection has the most yards on the team is the #1 WR etc..... if not -- its a mimimal contract --- please please dont read into the 10 million dollar number... As a Skins fan, i see these monster numbers all the time --- take Randle El for example -a 30 million dollar contract --- which is basically a 4yr - 11 million dollar gig -- thats all.... he will be getting a little under 3 mil per season --

49ER MAN 0 Posted April 15, 2006 I was never much of a Peerless Price fan to begin with. I though the reason he had so much success was due to the fact that Moulds took up 2 guys and Price was winning his one on one matchups. Buffalo wanted to keep him but not at a high price and shipped him to Atlanta, where he stunk as a no.1. Myabe he has something left in the tank and could give some help to Lee Evans. It's not as if they spent a TON of cash on him and if nothing else, he provides some adeqaute depth.
