kmswim03 0 Posted April 29, 2006 I hope melon head kiper is right and Matt Leinart falls to the Cards. I think it all depends on Oakland.
t.j 35 Posted April 29, 2006 I hope melon head kiper is right and Matt Leinart falls to the Cards. I think it all depends on Oakland. Leinart free-falls past Oakland. Will Kurt Warner get screwed again?!?!?!
Fumbleweed 547 Posted April 29, 2006 Leinart free-falls past Oakland. Will Kurt Warner get screwed again?!?!?! Depends on how much Denny Green is in charge.....Green won't be able to resist taking an offensive player....even though I think Justice is the better pick for the Cardinals. Bill Swerski 0 Posted April 29, 2006 James, Boldin, Fitzgerlad, Leinart. That's a great ###### team. Too bad that the people of Arizona don't deserve it
t.j 35 Posted April 29, 2006 Leinart free-falls past Oakland. Will Kurt Warner get screwed again?!?!?! Poor Warner. A lot of similarities between Leinart and Warner, though. Start Kurt, and when he gets hurt, Leinart goes in, hope for it to play out like Maddox/Roethlisberger. Good pick by the Cards. Oh yeah. And as a Fitz owner, I love it. DixieDevils 0 Posted April 29, 2006 One would hope with that foursome: Leinart, Edge, Fitz, Boldin that they would be able to sell some tickets in the new stadium. Move over, Kurt Warner.
zen 0 Posted April 29, 2006 James, Boldin, Fitzgerlad, Leinart. That's a great ###### team. Too bad that the people of Arizona don't deserve it Great value pick. Maybe Arizona becomes my new team. If I stick with Buffalo, I'm bound for ulcers and various psychosomatic disorders, like poor bowl movements, hair falling out in clumps, spontaneous nosebleeds. GO CARDS!!!@!!!@! :paperbag:

tdubya 0 Posted April 29, 2006 One would hope with that foursome: Leinart, Edge, Fitz, Boldin that they would be able to sell some tickets in the new stadium. Move over, Kurt Warner. The season ticket sales have almost doubled. They are closing in on 50,000 season ticket holders. It may be the first time since they have moved to AZ that the home games will be televised locally. The offense is definitely something to watch, and the defense was ranked 8th overall last year. The Cards have really improved themselves in the draft under Denny Green James, Boldin, Fitzgerlad, Leinart. That's a great ###### team. Too bad that the people of Arizona don't deserve it I take offense to your comment about the people of AZ not deserving this. What we here in the desert really don't deserve is the Bidwill family. By the looks of what J'ville and Carolina have done, we would've been much better off with an expansion franchise. The beautiful stadium would've been built years earlier, and we would not have had to put up with the idiotic decisions Bill and now Michael Bidwill make. The people here support their franchises, as long as their is a committment to making the product better. The Suns, Diamondbacks, and Coyotes all have good fan bases, with loyal fans because the teams are committed to winning. Until Denny Green got here, the Bidwill's were in this business to simply make money. The Cards have consistently been under the cap which indicates they want to save their money, and not put a winning product on the field. Things are turning around and the people here, myself included, certainly deserve it.
kmswim03 0 Posted April 29, 2006 I think Warner starts all of this year, but Leinart will take over and be great. He has a supporting cast kind like he had at USC.
jerryskids 6,799 Posted April 29, 2006 There are tons of LA transplants here in AZ, drafting Leinart is a brilliant PR move. Won't have an immediate impact which is interesting, since Denny is under severe pressure to perform this year. But maybe this pick gives him some plausible deniability? Again brilliant. Other than the fact that I think Cutler will be the best pro, I love this pick.
jerryskids 6,799 Posted April 29, 2006 Denny was just on ESPN. He looked downright svelt. For him. Plus he just admitted the PR value of Leinart.

kmswim03 0 Posted April 29, 2006 I would have really liked Pope or Mercedes at that pick instead of the lineman.
esoitl 0 Posted April 29, 2006 I think Warner starts all of this year, but Leinart will take over and be great. He has a supporting cast kind like he had at USC. i disagree with this is Green could bench McCown after winning or actually giving them a shot in a 4 games tring i think Warner wont last long he can still throw and has recovered from his thumb but he just looks lost his TDs were down so horribly i dont know what to make of him with 2 talented WRs and Edge, this offense should be quitefun to watch, hopefully Rolle will make a splash to a pretty good D and this team goes somewheres so much potential and talent there that if Warner struggles at all, i think you see Leinart rather early one of the big points on him is that he has the head to make a splash early in his career, with that talent i think he can make a few mistakes and learn on the fly to get the Cards on the right track
jerryskids 6,799 Posted April 30, 2006 Leonard Pope, TE.
Pokey55 0 Posted April 30, 2006 I really like AZs draft so far; Leinart will work out very very well there I think. Much better position for him there than if he'd gone last year at no.1 to SF. I think AZ is definitely making progress.
Wildman 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Definitely a nice draft. I'm just wondering about the line play on both sides of the ball. If they could get improvement there, this team is dangerous and Leinart gets the type of talent he had at USC. This is one of the best spots he could land. Leonard Pope is going to be awesome for this team. Whitehurst to SD? Oh boy... Rivers doesn't look like Bernie Kosar+ by 2007 and trust me, Whitehurst is going to be touted like crazy. I'm still not sold on Whitehurst, but there is enough about him to impress. He just needs to improve his decisions and pocket presence...especailly the pocket presence, he gets flustered easily when blitzed up the middle.
Pokey55 0 Posted April 30, 2006 I'm convinced the SD staff really doesn't know what is going on. Letting Brees get away for nothing; wasting the best years of LT's career. I don't think they are on top of things there. Having said that I've heard a lot of good things about Whitehurst, but they've got to give Rivers a shot right? Especially with the contract. It just seems to me that SD might be wasting their window of opportunity because of some poor front office decisions.
