NFL Draft talk

Recommended Posts

Might as well have a Geek version of draft talk.

Aints oughta get the Jets 4th and 29th and a late rounder next year for Bush.

Hell that's what Houston shoulda did. and they STILL coulda got mario williams

at 4. what focken fools.

would you rather have:

mario williams + nick mangold?

or

mario williams + bobby carpenter + nick mangold?

or to turn the worst O-line into a good one overnight:

ferguson + carpenter + mangold.

Whether or not history proves Williams a good pick, the mere fact that they DIDN'T take Bush and could have traded to any number of teams like you said, will go down as one of the biggest blunders in draft history.

If you have a lot of holes to fill(hey whats up newgirl)

and the top 40 or so players are more talented than most

NFL drafts, objective number 1 IMHO would be to get

as many of those picks that I could without giving up

much. It was there for the taking for Houston and is now

for the Aints. They could end up with 2 50 million dollar

RBs surroudned by crap. mcallister's value sucks due to his

injury. Trade back with the Jets and take something like

Ferguson, Carpenter and Lewis/Pope

#2 Bush, NO

Young or Leinart to the Texans? I predict Young.

Leinart makes the most sense given his history with Norm Chow...therefore I too say Vince Young.

Nothing against brick, but Pennington and Ramsey?

Man, likely #1 last year, still hanging around this year.

alex smith got 49mill last year

the way leinart is going(between 5 and 10) won't that get him

about 30-35mill? that's one costly-ass year of college. A year ago

I said I'd laff my azz off on the air if this happened.

Not only did we take the second best player on the board, but now we get to see Vince Young twice a freaking year.

I really hope Kubiak knows what he is doing.

Anyone else feel Buffalo has made the worst pick thus far? ( D. Whitner @ #8)??

Certainly the most surprising. I don't even know the guy. Maybe they were gripping after Huff went?

i said leinart cost himself 20 million, i'm probably wrong...based on past contracts

it will be about 30MILLION! Roethlisberger with the 11th pick signed an 11 million

contract, mike williams last year at 10 signed a 13mill.

Yeah, he lost a few million. Meanwhile he gets to throw to Boldin, Fitzgerald and Edge instead of having to throw to Antonio Bryant, Arnaz Battle and Kevan Barlow. Well worth the lost cash.

you mean kurt warner gets to throw to boldin fitz and edge the next year perhaps 2.

I'll take the extra 30 million and play for a crappy team. drew brees did the same thing

for much less extra $

from what local radio says the front office felt that whitner was going to go 9

personally, the pick fills a huge hole at SS, with a guy that will be better than huff, he's 4 hundreths of a second slower and a better tackler

i didn't like the pick at first only because I thought they could trade down to 14 to get him, but again hearing that he'd have been gone at 9 no point

I don't think the Texans pick was that bad - they have a decent starting RB and Williams is going to be a really special player. Far as trading down I'm sure they explored it but it's so hard to find teams willing to dish out a handful off picks to move up in a deep draft.

The stupidest pick IMO was Reggie Bush to NO - running back is maybe the one position that's not broken on that team.

Leinart slipped pretty far but at least he'll have some good skill position players to work with, throwing to Boldin and Fitzgerald and handing off to Edge. Kurt Warner is near the end; he's the perfect guy to throw to the wolves for a few games while Leinert gets his feet wet.

I'm delighted with the Eagles pick of Bunkley.

Liked the Vikings taking Greenway.

And Rich Eisen had possibly the best draft day quote ever.

"(The Dolphins) can now smoke em if they got em."
