Well...let me ask you...when he's on Oprah pushing his new book, do you think she'll be asking him the tough questions about his cheating and lying and endangering the lives of everyone who lives in NJ?

 

Do you think she's going to crush him like she did that Frye guy who had the audacity to exaggerate some stories about himself in a book?

 

Or do you think it's going to be one of those softball interviews where everyone kisses his ass for being so brave to come out w/his story?

 

As for him losing his wife...his fault...if he knew he was gay, then he shouldn't have gotten married. Again, who's the victim here? Him or his wife? By all reports she didn't do anything wrong. Yet, she was the one cheated on...she was the one who was lied to...she was the one who unknowingly risked exposure to god knows what kind of STDs...she is the one who has custody of their kids and has to explain it to them and pick up the pieces.

 

As for him losing his job...again...his fault (for reasons that I've explained previously.) Will he ever be able to run for office again? Doubt it. Of course, after this book deal (I read he's getting about $500k) I think he'll be OK.

 

So, when you consider all of that...plus the fact that some of the crap he pulled in office could have resulted in charges (if the NJ political machine wasn't so damn corrupt), yes, I think he got off pretty easy.

I don't watch a lot of Oprah, which is to say I never watch Oprah, so I wouldn't know how she would treat him. Nor would I care how Oprah treats him. When did Oprah become the voice of the society? What kind of pass did he get from O'Reilly, or Hannity, or Malkin? Though I haven't really followed the story, I'm quite certain he has had to endure plenty of derision over the whole thing.

 

Also, I think Oprah had every right to fry Frye. She made his focking career only to find out his supposed true memoir was a pack of lies. She had every right to try and regain her credibility.

When did I indicate McGreevey has been through enough? You said he got a free pass. I pointed out he was driven from his job and villified in large segments of the media. Not a great definition of "free pass". Comprende?

You're right...the analogy wasn't the greatest. Hence, my point. Frey's offense of lying in his own memoir was not nearly as bad as what McGreevey did. Yet, Frey's life is rooned, while McGreevey has a nice new boyfriend, can live the life he chooses and has a phat paycheck coming for the book detailing his misdeeds.
