Going to Belize in July.

Recommended Posts

Just booked the flight on Taca airlines. 2 adults (and my MIL) round trip for less than 900 bucks. Houston to Belize City.

Then we will be travelling by boat (http://www.cayecaulkerwatertaxi.com) from Belize City to the beautiful island of Caye Caulker for a week of relaxation and scuba. We are renting a 3 bedroom house for less than 900 for the week.

I don't think I am going to be snorkling at all, just diving.

Cool. Belize is on my list of future vacation spots.

That place looks nice, especially for the money. I think I might keep that house bookmarked. Let us know how it is.

Cayman Islands ealier this year, wasn't it? Now, Belize. Must be nice to have your MIL pay for your bills while you go on vacation after vacation.

I will post pics with a full description. This is going to be my first big vacation where everything wasn't taken care of. Looks like the vacation itself will be around $1200 for both of us for the week, not including room/board/scuba/shopping. So even if we spend another 800 bucks, I figure 2000 for a week in our own house on an island in Belize is pretty damn good.

Hell, if it's that good I might look into making a real estate investment on the island. :first:

St. Lucia.

Later this year, we are also going to either do Cozumel or New York. We have been to New York but we had such a great time, we want to go back.

Next year: Bahamas, Grand Cayman and maybe Turks and Caicos.

Canary Islands are cool too, Greece, but I have to say the most beautiful island I've ever been to was the Island of Capri.

My vacation this year consists of going to Boston catching two games, and getting drunk off my a$$.

Sweet. Best time I ever had was in Puerto Rico on an island called Culabra. Great place cheap. Check it out!

Culebra.

That looks pretty cool. The major thing we have to worry about is the price of the ticket.

how much did your MIL have to shell out?

if you had only been a little quicker, you could have been the first in the thread to post this gem. Alas, you were not.

Just booked the flight on Taca airlines.

Sounds like an amalgamation of 'Taco' and 'Caca'. :puke:

If they can get me to Belize, I don't care if I have to ride with the goats and chickens.

I flew on Taca several years ago...

New clean planes, nothing to worry about

Unless you don't like flying with a cage full of live chickens in the overhead luggage bins

Seriously, one lady did have a cage with a rooster in it

i think july is in a rainy season. i was looking for a cheap destination for mid february next year. look forward to your report. let us know if there are any nightspots or restaurants on the island as well. I could spend a week on an isolated beach but the wife always wants at least a little shopping and dining out.

This island has not night life or hotspots. San Pedro is where that is. We are going to hang out in a sleepy island.

You should move to a part of Belize that has no internet access.

I don't think we would lose any sleep over that.
