I HATE my Bowflex Treadclimber.

Recommended Posts

Waste of money. Should have tried one out before spending that kind of money. Should have just bought a new treadmill, or rather kept the one that had...that was 8 years old but still worked PERFECTLY. Luckily, a fmaily member has it (said they'd pay me for it, yet I haven't received $$). So, I will have to be tacky and ask if they use it. If not, I want it back.

So, do I ebay the TC? Newspaper classified ads? I bought it off of Ebay, so I know that I immediately have to eat some of the shipping charges.

If I told you guys that I masturbated on it, would one of you buy it from me?

I'd sell it in a newspaper. Fock...trying to box it up and ship it. By the time you eat the shipping charges, and ebay listing and selling fees, you'd be better of in a newspaper, i think. I'd check the newspaper, see if you are competing against a bunch of other buyers remorsers. Also, make sure the newspaper has a good circulation. If not, I suppose you gotta go on ebay.

What don't you like? How is it different than you anticipated?

Well, I can't run on it for one. Not that I ever thought I would, but the option to run isn't even there. It's very tricky to get the hang of walking on it, too. Since there are two treads basically, and those move up and down, you have to PUSH them up and down, they aren't motorized (the walking treads ARE motorized).

When I work out, I LOVE to sweat. I love to feel like I am getting a kick ass work out and I don't when I am on this thing. I followed the instructions in the book for my height/weight, started it out at the levels it suggested and even tried a few others. I just don't like it. With running on the treadmill, I could run for 30 minutes, be sweating like a pig and feel great. I hop off this thing and feel like there is still more that I need to do.

Yeah, when we got this thing off of ebay, it arrived in three boxes, each one was taller than me, and weighed a TON. Shipping was ludicrous.

That's why treadmills have the highest "user retention" for longer periods of time. It makes you work. You stand on it, turn on, you HAVE to walk/run. And you HAVE to keep up that same pace. It's like a forceful training partner. A bike, a treadclimber, etc...YOU need to make it go. You also tend to slow down as your workout progresses....as you are controlling the speed.

Yeah, I have been researching treadmills and I could have got a pretty nice one for the same price as that treadclimber.

Sometimes, when the poop won't come out like I think it should, I just go grab the laptop and click on a DanSez thread. The poop usually comes out before Dan makes his point.

When Chuck Norris does pushups, he is not actually pushing himself up, but instead pushing the Earth down.

I don't run outside. Never have. I prefer the indoors.

My wife likes the treadmill. I don't like to run, even on a treadmill, because of my knees. I do the precor some, but my fav at the gym is the rotating staircase thingy. Doesn't quite generate the sweat of a good run, but my ass is quite sore at the end. I also like the rowing machine.

Gotta agree w/ Jerr. Low impact at our age is good for me. Easier on the knees and ankles.

I HAD ONE.

I got rid of it and bought the TC...since they say that you get the same workout in half the time on TV. I got their free DVD with info, looked at their website, did my research, and bought one.

I now want my treadmill back, or I want to sell this thing and get a new treadmill.
