GettnHuge 1 Posted June 16, 2006 every one of my friends uses that microwave crapola which I can't stand. I have an old pot that's been used to make just popcorn in my family for probably 2 decades now. even my parents only make the microwave junk so I got it from them a few years ago. It's not quite as good as a popper but it's damn close. I get a garlic/parmesan topping in packets from a local pizza place. better than butter+salt.
Jeremy 0 Posted June 16, 2006 My wife uses the popper. I use the microwave kind. One less dish I have to wash.

A jukebox? 8 track? Microwave all the way! Times are-a changin'!
Big_Pete 0 Posted June 16, 2006 it's 2:53 in my microwave. 2:55 and it's starting to burn, 2:50 and too many unpopped kernels. I loath the day I need to get a new microwave, cause then I'll have to figure out exactly how long it takes for popcorn again. And don't anyone get me started by saying that microwaves have the "popcorn button"....
wiffleball 4,679 Posted June 16, 2006 Are we all in agreement that those hot air poppers blew? God, all they were good for was making packing material.
Brown Eyed Girl 1 Posted June 16, 2006 And don't anyone get me started by saying that microwaves have the "popcorn button".... Oh, I know! That never works for me. BlackClouds tried to get me to use that function the other day on our microwave here at work and my popcorn burned thereby causing all of my co-workers to give me dirty looks for the next hour as it smelled terrible in here. sawilson 1 Posted June 17, 2006 I like the old fashioned ones if you get the right popcorn to put in it. Bed Bath & Beyond has some great mixes that taste just like movie theater popcorn. Yummy.....
GettnHuge 1 Posted June 17, 2006 Old school! Most of the jacks were modernized decades ago but a few upstairs were not. I was shocked to find adapters at the local radio shack for about 5 bux. for anyone who is bored, this is what it looks like. male to female

cgod 0 Posted June 17, 2006 2 quart sauce pan with olive oil (just enough to cover the bottom of the pan.) 1/4-1/3 cup of kernels (Orville Redenbacher's Original) sprinkled with a dash of cayenne pepper. Shake while popping and pour into serving bowl immediately upon that 2-3 second between pops to avoid burning. No butter as the oil and cayenne pepper give it enough seasoning.
