I am the commissioner of 3 leagues, and I also participate in 2 other leagues. I am cutting one of the leagues in which I am the commissioner because all of the other players just ###### and complain about everything. It is definitely annoying having to listen to people ###### about fantasy football. So, yeah, I am cutting back. But not playing altogether?

Really? Everyone I have talked to says that when you play for money that bitching generally follows....Anyway, I should probably consider dropping the # of leagues or stop being commish in my main one.

 

Oh, to answer the question about why I am here, its because I have been gone since the site went down and wanted to come back to catch up with some friends. Got on the Fantasy section and then I posted this.....I will keep my emotional, tear-filled thoughts to myself, my psychologist and my prozac....oh yeah, and maybe the book group I start this fall

I'll be honest with you, i have been the "biatching owner" a number of times but that's because i have vision for every league i play in. It's as much mine as it is anyone's as soon as i pay my fee. To fight for ethics is a tough choice but in the long run your league will benefit and the fun will be even more frequent.

 

That said you must join or create leagues you care about. Keepers and dynasty leagues share a commitment issue that when met lends itself to stronger friends that make up the owners. Thats good and i know because i play in two that have been around for 10 years each. In a league's later life things run smoother and the rag session that bad trades result in is not one any of the owners wants to deal with.

 

It's your choice of leagues to play in, but choose wisely.

 

I love Fantasy Baseball but find it's much more consuming. I have taken years off baseball and my football season is much more enjoyable.

 

The key is to rebel even in fun , have fun rebelling and ensure all others have fun too. A tough task that's for sure but your league becomes a frat that you are so happy to have in your later years. Football keeps us together but game is only part of it now.

 

One of my co-owners was in iraq for years and he kept playing over there. Do you know what that does to a league? He was elated to have the league as well.

The only time I ever considered giving up up on fantacy football was after 9-11, but there was a lot of that going around that year. I lost intrest that year but I was back the next.
