1) This is shocking why? W couldn't out-debate a high schooler, this is common knowledge.

2) No, you don't hate to say it. You are probably creaming your pants in excitement over this.

Ahmadinejad didn't show anyone up. Are world leaders taking him seriously now? Even the French think this guy is a whack job. Nothing that comes out of his mouth will be taken seriosuly. The clips I heard of Bush's speech on NPR were not bad at all.

If by "not bad" you mean, having the orator skills of a blue-collar foreman, then yes I agree. Sorry, but I have higher standards than that for the President of the United States.

Granted Ahmadwhatver is likely infinatly more competent and intelligent than Bush.

But you do realize that Hezbullah is financed almost entirely by Iranian taxpayers, that Iran is run by Islamic fundamentalists, that women can't wear makeup or allow their hair to be uncovered, and the president has the code/authority to launch nuclear missles right?

Chavez certainly does. Everything he has done in Venezuela has been to the benefit of the poor and unfortunate. Disagree with his foreign policy and anti-US rhetoric all you want but his local politics are as morally high as they come.

IRAN'S TERRORIST-IN-CHIEF SPEAKS

So yesterday was the big day. Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, addressed the United Nations. Actually, letting this guy into the country to make this speech may have been a brilliant political move. Because he stood right there at the U.N. podium and made the case for the War On Terror. Among his rants:

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lied about his country's nuclear program, saying it was transparent, peaceful and under the watchful eye of United Nations inspectors. Oh boy! That ought to make us all feel better, since the U.N. has such a great track record of keeping nukes out of the hands of crazy people like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The Jihadist menace then tore into the United States and Great Britain over the war in Iraq. Come to think of it, Ahmadinejad sounded like he was reading from a text prepared by the Democratic National Committee. He whined about civilian deaths in Iraq, just as the mainstream media has been doing. However, he failed to mention that Iran is behind much of the insurgency. I particularly liked the part where he talked about the U.S. coming thousands of miles to attack poor innocent Muslims in Iraq ... but no mention of the thousands of miles traveled by Muslims to attack America on 9/11.

Ahmadinejad complained about the war between Israel and Hezbollah and how it affected the people of Lebanon. He forgot to mention that Iran props up Hezbollah and is responsible for starting the war. Small omission there.

Yesterday's speech to the United Nations by Iran's leader said all we needed to hear. Iran is a state sponsor of terrorism and has a total lunatic in charge. We cannot allow that country to possess a nuclear weapon under any circumstances. Of course the United Nations Security Council isn't going to do anything...so will we?

After yesterday, I sure hope so.

Ummmmm perhaps his interview with Brian Williams when he said the Holocaust was a myth?

Let's try to be a little more accurate.

Ahmadinejad said the Holocaust was a myth in a speech in December 2005.

During the interview, Brian Williams asked Ahmadinejad about that comment. Ahmadinejad did NOT repeat the "Holocaust was a myth" claim during the Brian Williams interview.

Here's the transcript:

Williams: There is something you said that upset and scared a lot of people. It upset a lot of Jews in the United States and around the world when you called the Holocaust a myth. There are people, some people I know who escaped Hitler's reign. There is research. There are scholars who can teach you about it. And yet, you've expressed doubt about the Holocaust. Why?

Ahmadinejad: I've answered three of your questions on this. You know that I belong to the university. I'm an academician by nature. I'm interested in having a scientific approach to all events. But we've chosen three questions. The first question was: In the first World War, over 60 — In the second World War, over 60 million people lost their lives. They were all human beings. Why is it that only a select group of those who were killed have become so prominent and important?

Williams: Because of the difference humankind draws between warfare and genocide.

Ahmadinejad: Do you think that the 60 million who lost their lives were all at the result of warfare alone? There were two million that were part of the military at the time, perhaps altogether, 50 million civilians with no roles in the war — Christians, Muslims. They were all killed.

The second and more important question that I raised was, if this event happened, and if it is a historical event, then we should allow everyone to research it and study it. The more research and studies are done, the more we can become aware of the realities that happened. We still leave open to further studies absolute knowledge of science or math. Historical events are always subject to revisions, and reviews and studies. We're still revising our thoughts about what happened over thousands of years ago. Why is it that those who ask questions are persecuted? Why is every word so sensitivity or such prohibition on further studies on the subject? Where as we can openly question God, the prophet, concepts such as freedom and democracy?

And the third question that I raised in this regard: if this happened, where did it happen? Did the Palestinian people have anything to do with it? Why should the Palestinians pay for it now? Five million displaced Palestinian people is what I'm talking about. Over 60 years of living under threat. Losing the lives of thousands of dear ones. And homes that are destroyed on a daily basis over people's heads. You might argue that the Jews have the right to have a government. We're not against that. But where? At a place where their people were — several people will vote for them, and where they can govern.

Ahmadinejad is a radical and dangerous thug in charge of a rogue country, but there is no need to twist facts to attack him. Use the truth instead.

Are you on drugs?

He re-wrote the Venezuelan Constituion to solidify his power.

He passed a law banning the use of language deemed to be insulting to the president of the country.

Former members of his cabinet have been jailed for being critical of his policies.

Union leaders have been jailed for conducting legal strikes (the head of the AFL-CIO got 16 years...before escaping from prison.)

He protects and arms FARC terrorists from Columbia.

During his reign as President he has presided over the greatest crime wave in the history of his country.

Due to the oil boom, he is sitting on the biggest pile of cash in the country's history...yet malnutrition and poverty still run rampant (maybe b/c he took all that money and increased military spending to over $10 billion per year.)

He rails against Western Democracy, but that's how he gained power...after his military coup failed.

He holds countries like Lybia, North Korea and Cuba up as shining examples of how a country should be run.

ETA: Apparently, even Hugo and his flunkies realized what an ass he made of himself at the UN, as he has cut his trip to the US short and cancelled his other appointments...including a news conference that he was to give at his country's embassy.

A lot of third-shift factory workers living paycheck to paycheck and working their ass off can relate to Bush's plight -- silver-spooned spoiled life/ handed everything to him/got into Yale with a D average/called his dad to keep him out of Vietnam/alcoholic and drug abuser/ran a few companies into the ground but bailed out by rich connected dad

If Bush was really a normal guy living in the normal world he'd be dead by now or selling crack. That he hasn't been able to get a command on the English language after 57 years can be attributed to his general lack of intelligence more than his growing up as a "normal" guy, which he didn't.

I never said he was a normal guy. I said alot of people like Bush' struggle with public speaking, because it made them feel he was a normal guy...there's a huge difference. But go ahead and turn my words around so you can show us all he is spoiled little daddy's boy. Thing is, everyone already knows this. It's not news to anyone. It's just another attempt by a Bush hater, to tell everyone how evil he is and how he is the devil. Most politicians we have, are exactly the same thing. Children of rich fathers. That's why they went to the good universities, and why they are in politics today. So I don't really understand your argument.

How many of you Bush haters voted for him at least once? I'll bet not one of you will admit it...oh how the media molds your little minds...

I don't need the media to mold anything. Listen to the man talk - he is a doofus. And I've hated him ever since his dirty Rove-led pile of crap campaign in South Carolina ruined this country by slandering McCain. The US would have been a more honorable place then....
