JibbaJabbah 0 Posted September 27, 2006 This may have already been said, but I'm not going to read this whole thread: Physicians do not allow someone who has attempted suicide to go home the next morning. A person that attempts suicide is admitted to the Psyciatric Ward. Not true at all. I have seen someone admitted for this, and within 5 hours, was back at home. They did have to join a program or they could have been admitted into a psyc ward though. The patient has to agree to do this for releas. It will also include speaking with a social worker. ZeroTolerance 584 Posted September 27, 2006 Oh man, TO just upped the ante to recievers everywhere. Chad Johnson will inevitably be forced to slit his wrists to keep up. Joe Horn will be forced to threaten to jump from a rooftop. We could be at the brink of a WR disaster.

So what do we know: TO looks fine, he just practiced and caught footballs. Asked if he'd practice tomorrow, he responded that he should. It would be "absurd" for him to have taken so many pills. The pill container was empty because he segregated his pills with his suppliments so he could take the right amount at the right time. No reason not to believe TO at this point. Uhm, just an FYI - the Dallas police denied their own police report. I posted the links/quotes earlier. They attributed the mis-statements to the paramedic. Apparently that guy has a big mouth and creative imagination. But the 2nd press release from the PD matches her statement exactly. And that Owens was playing catch with Romo & Bledsoe today would all seem to wrap this up into a tidy little package of "wild ass exaggeration by the media". Nice to see 7 pages of hate though. If I were that paramedic, I'd be finding a good lawyer right about now. Slander is actionable. Apparently it wasn't the publicist who caused the confusion, it was the paramedic. Based on the paramedic's account, the police initially reported depression, 30-35 pills, self-harm intent, etc. The police have stated this already.

frisco 0 Posted September 27, 2006 I personally think TO probably is bipolar, and more than likely did try to kill himself. They are merely trying to sweep it under the rug now. One of the draw backs of bieng a multi-million dollar receiver is you become a commodity more than a person. No one really gives a ###### about TO's health in all this, merely his ability to play on Sundays. Most likely this stuff goes a long way to explaining much of his recent actions. All I can say is hopefully this will be a wake up call and he'll get the help he needs.

robzm19 6 Posted September 27, 2006 3. couldve just been overblown like everything else. you know those instructions on your prescription that says dont take with alchohol. theres a lot of other things that react with medications in particular hydrocodone which can be amplified by alchohol other pills supplements. this is likely youll get side effects become groggy respiratory drive might become decreased but if its not a large amount of pills they will just give him some narcan to counteract the meds interview him and send him on his merry way. just patting myself on the back here. I believe this proves correct as to what happened right about now supposedly the police said are you trying to hurt yourself. A person that is groggy could here only hurt and yourself so they would respond yes.. thinking they were being asked if they had any pain. Did you take the rest of the pills in the bottle To responds Yes. maybe he he heard did you take the pills in your bottle. so hes thinking yea my hand hurt so I took my pills whats the big deal. Only speculation but what isnt at this point. It seems as this is also kind of the way things took place according to TO yeeaaa I just love me some me
football_scooter 0 Posted September 27, 2006 Owens hopes to play at Tennessee Terrell Owens, WR DAL News: A smiling Terrell Owens said Wednesday afternoon from the Dallas Cowboys' headquarters that reports of him being depressed and suicidal were overblown and that he hopes to play for the team in Week 4. Owens was hospitalized Tuesday evening after overdosing on pain medication for his broken finger; Owens said he mixed hydrocodone pain-killing medication with his supplements and became incoherent. At that point, his publicist phoned 911 Tuesday evening. After being discharged from a local hospital Wednesday morning, Owens came to the practice facility and caught passes from Drew Bledsoe before speaking with the media. "I feel very capable of going out there and playing on Sunday," Owens said Wednesday. T.O. added that he did not take 35 pain medication pills ("I wouldn't be here," he said) and that his stomach was not pumped. Analysis: Owens should practice the rest of this week and could be a gametime decision for Week 4 at Tennessee. Fantasy owners should monitor Owens' status throughout the week before finalizing lineups. And after all the hate-filled wishful thinking/speculation, at the end of the day someone ought to point out that the underlying news here is that TO will likely be back on the field playing just 2 weeks after having a metal plate surgically implanted in his hand for his broken bones. That's one tough SOB. I have long posted my distain for Owens off-field antics on this forum, but I try to take care and mention how much I respect his game on the field. Sad that some can't seperate the two. Also sad that Eagles fans are such bitter biatches (in general...I know a few of you who aren't)

Probably illegal to transport them in another container, but I'm pretty sure you can do whatever the fock you want in your own house. actually, yes you are--repacking into 7-day pill organizers has been specifically pointed out as an example of a violation of perscription drug laws, which come under the aegis of the "war on drugs". you can be "pretty sure" all you want, but a pharmacist can tell you that, though unenforced in most cases, any storage of perscription drugs in a container other than the issued one is a federal offense. the reason i know this is that i keep my extra refills of antibiotics and pain meds in order to be prepared for emergencies where they would be unavailable. i spoke with my pharmacist about alternate storage methods, and he warned me about the consequences. i didn't believe him, and spoke with a variety of other pharmacists and doctors. they all said the same thing, and several pointed me to the DEA, who corroborated it. try growing pot in your own house, and then tell me that you can do whatever you want there. jlbay 0 Posted September 27, 2006 It seems clear that this was a huge mistake by the Media, due at least in part to Owens' PR woman. What seems to me to be the most compelling arguement that Owens's denial is credible is the fact that if he had attempt to kill himself last night AND the hospital did perform a psych evaluation on the guy AND the doctors agreed to discharge him THEN it would have been with the agreement that certain criteria be met. Such as him getting counseling, being observed, etc - but it certainly would not include going on national television and denying the whole incident occurred. I simply can not bring myself to believe that the PR person, his agent, the Cowboys, the NFL, Owens' family and friends would all look at the guy as simply a meal ticket, and in the hugest cover-up since Kennedy - sweep this under the rug. Then again it also seems impossible to me that Bill Parcels has no inside information on a guy who takes up roughly 10% of his salary cap space. The other thing that occurs very strange to me is the fact that suicide rumors are running rampent in Dallas and Parcels doesn't inquire at all as to Owens' health, nor does Owens reach out to his coach to offer any explaination. Assuming that this is all wild Media speculation, doesn't it seem very odd that the coach and player had no communication during this entire event?

You are sooooo full of sh!t, and what's amusing is that you don't even know it. For one, pharmacy laws are state mandated, and vary on a state to state basis - so all this talk about federal offenses is laughable. For two, what happens in one state is not necessarily indicitve of what happens in another, so even if this were all true for you, it might not be true in TX. Each state has a State Board of Pharmacy, and from that board, all rules and regulations are broadcast. The federal govt has oversight over the manufacture, and distribution supply chain. Period. For three, you may store your meds in any container as you see fit. The ONLY place the FDA & DEA even have jurisdiction is in the pharmacy or at the place of manufacture. The DEA/FDA have no authority to tell you or me or anyone what we can do with our meds once we've purchased them. They won't come to your house and ask wher eyou're storing them. Face it - you got caught in a lie, and are now lying even more to try to cover it up. None of it is even remotely plausible. Oh, and your cute little fallacy about growing weed in your house is totally irrelevant to the discussion. If you had a prescription for Marinol (pharmacy grade marijuana pills) you might have a point...other than the one on top of your clueless little head, that is. But since we're talking about being able to split up your prescription, you're not even close to the subject at hand on your little slippery slope. So let me get this straight: if I have a prescription, and I'm going on an overnight, I can't just bring 3 pils with me? I am required by federal law to bring the entire bottle? My god, you might well be the stupidest person on the entire Internet. Someone call Guiness, stat! I have no idea if this is true or not but if its true why do they still allow these containers to be sold. they specificly say for separating your pills. It's not. Save your breath - this clown knows absolutely nothing about pharmaceutical law as evidenced by his ignorant posting. I defy him or anyone to provide anything to substantiate this horsesh!t. Please, that comment was obviously based on these reports being true that he tried to commit suicide. What, do you think that had it been confirmed that he tried to commit suicide, he would have been playing against the Eagles? By the way, how is the TO won't be a distraction thing working out for all you Cowgirl fans? Sure, I'll take a sig bet for Oct 8th if you'll do it again for the x-mas game. Since I think the Cowboys will beat the Eagles on Oct 8th, but then lose at home on x-mas. It's been written on my Eagles schedule @ work since the day it came out. Make it a one month sig bet. Although since the Cowboys won't be making the playoffs, I'll want you to pay-off next year after the x-mas game.
