Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted October 13, 2006 What's a thundersnow? sounds like a cartoon character. It is that song by AC-DC that is played at football games. Or maybe it is that barbarian cartoon character from the 70's. Thundersnow the Barbarian.

D_House 0 Posted October 13, 2006 Today's my last day at my job...I leave Phoenix, Az for my new job tomorrow...in Rochester, NY Out of curiousity, what is your field of work?also - Rochester didn't get his by this storm, so say my folks. The weather patterns up there are weird: severe, blizzard-like storms will hit Rochester, and completely miss Buffalo and Syracuse, and vice versa. It's all due to those damn big lakes. I'm an electronics technician. I worked in the semiconductor industry here in Phoenix, but will be doing something a bit different in NY. I'm from Rochester, so I'm just excited to get back home...even with the weather. I guess Rochester didn't get hit too hard, but the I-90 is closed for about 155 miles or something. I hope it's back open by the time I need to drive on it...around Monday or so.

Brad GLuckman 519 Posted October 13, 2006 i'm from Rochester too, and I also want to go back eventually. good to hear that there are some jobs back home still. Job Market sucks pretty bad in all of Upstate NY. I really wanted to get back, and received some real lowball offers before landing the job I'm starting next week. These politicians keep saying right before everyelection they are going to do something to help out Upstate NY...but they never do anything. Taxes need to be lowered to bring in more business. BMoney 0 Posted October 13, 2006 also, this is an out-of-season storm.. Unfortunately, we'll probably be seeing a lot more of these types of extreme weather events, because of Global Warming right! the longer the lakes stay unfrozen, the more chances for lake effect snow.. the only crime is that the bills didnt play today...i hate missing out on the chance for a snow game.. D'ohmer Simpson 0 Posted October 13, 2006 Updatored!! BUFFALO, N.Y. - A rare early October snowstorm left parts of the Great Lakes and Midwest blanketed with 2 feet of snow Friday morning, prompting widespread blackouts, closing schools and stranding travelers. The wet, heavy snow downed tree limbs and toppled power lines, leaving 350,000 homes and businesses without electricity in western New York, officials said. Sucks!!!
