And I LOVE this.. correcting the topic starter on a topic like this... :(

It was posted in haste. Gimme a fockin break. ;)

Here's a blast from the past: I was at the game at Candlestick when OJ retired. The whole stadium was going, "juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuice" and I was trying to figure out why they were booing him. Hey, I was a kid, but in hindsight I bet they'd all have booed him for real! ;)

Vick's run in OT vs the Vikings for the win

This bad boy won me 2 GRAND !

I remember that sh!t like it was yesterday... :dunno:

Had Atlanta -3.5 and when Minny tied it to go to Overtime I was siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick.... figured a FG either way and I'm sunk.... when those two Minnesota defenders collided and Vick went into that end-zone I dropped to the floor in front of the whole bar and thanked the good lord..... then I bought the entire bar shots

P.S. - maybe that's why I'm always defending Vick on this site

One a play I did see live was Lions old RB Billy Simms when decided to try to leap through a hole on a pitch play and his verticle got him up so high he decided to use a linebackers neck as a spring board to get an extra 5 yards..... another beast of a runner...

Anyone just see Two Minute Drill on ESPN NEWS just now ?... they were talkin about this play.... that's crazy, ;) I haven't even seen Billy Simms in 10 years ... :dunno:

Wish they showed it though

first 10 to come to mind:

-Steve Largent plastering Mike Harden

glad to see someone else remembers this one. Greatest hit by a WR of all time.

Here's an obscure one. Danny White changing the play and the camera catching Tom Landry mouthing the words "No! Danny! NO!! Of course, the play failed.

I believe the play in question was a wide pitchout to Ron Springs and went for -4 yards. One of the dumbest play calls in history...hey, against a fast front seven, let's run a slow-developing play to the outside! How can it not work?!

agreed!! this came weeks after harden had that cheap shot on largent...

no one wouldve expected it from largent...it was GREAT..he exploded all over harden...

curt warner running around right end in miami to wrap that playoff game up was another moment for me..

warner getting hurt was a sad moment..but i cant get that out of my head at times...

Chargers Dolphins Epic game

TO's catch for the niners against the Pack

ok..jerry rice fumbling the ball earlier in that game..trying to bring it back in and not being able to...and seeing the refs say it was no fumble..what crap...

being at old county stadium..sitting in the bleachers..watching a missed fg from ray wershing come our way..thinking, wow..im going to catch it..only to have some fock push me at the last minute

the guy who jumped out of his seat at chicago to catch a kick...

i think it was 1999..but standing at lambeau..talking to derrick mayes..then, of seattle..all of a sudden hearing some big shot, rent-a-cop ###### at people about standing in the aisles..even though it was an hour before kick off..he went on and on...King ######....

the kickers were practicing and there were no nets...longwell ripped one through the uprights..and the ball drilled this security dude right in the head...he went down and was out...those balls were hard as rocks..at least the ones they practiced kicking with...laughing with mayes when we saw it..even shaun springs was cracking up..mean that we laughed..but fock him...

not football, but hockey..

at a jr game here..the kids were firing t-shirts into the crowd..the shirts were bundled tight and wrapped up and fired out of these bazooka type deals..you know what i mean...

and these things had FORCE this night...ad its 1 thing to shoot them INTO the section u are facing..but the girl was by center ice and decided to aim towards the corner...

there was a lady..id guess 40 or so..sitting and reading a paper...and POOF..they fired up this missle..and it was a perfect shot right off of her forehead..she had NO clue it was coming and was OK after...i laughed for the next period..it was so funny...i guess i go to games for moments like these as well...

I've gotta say my favorite Picture of the NFL is when they actually took a photo of Chris Chamber's game on Thanksgiving. They've really managed to sum up his outstanding performance with this snapshot:

1) Theismanns leg

2) Tim Krumrie's leg in the Super Bowl

3) Junior Seau's arm yesterday

4) Napoleon McCallums Knee

5) The Great Gazoo (Gramatica) hurting his hamstring celebrating a FG

6) Barry Sanders run against New England where he turns the DB around twice

7) Monte Clark on the ground praying as Eddie Murray misses a last second FG in 1984(?) playoffs

8) Billy Sims karate-kicking an opposing DB

9) Billy Sims highstepping during player intros the day he signed a contract extension

10) Losing to Chicago on Thanksgiving (circa 1980) on two consecutive plays...a Vince Evans QB draw on the last play of regulation and a Chicago return of the kickoff in OT for a TD.

I've only read page 1 to this point... some quality stuff.

Some of my "Eagles-Centered" memories...

- Watching Herm Edwards pick up Csonka's fumble for the "Miracle in the Meadowlands" as a youngster. BURNED in my memory.

- Keith Byars block on Pepper Johnson along the sidelines where Johnson flew like something out of a cartoon... about 40-yards into the bench area along the sidelines.

- Aforementioned Randall Cunningham non-tackle by Banks... and any number of lofty TD dives.

- The "House of Pain" game where I think Wes Hopkins knocked the entire starting lineup of the Houston Oilers out of the game.

There may be one more...

Kinda hate the 49ers, so i hate to bring it up but, Garrison Hearsts run on opening day. Forget the year. Think it was agaist the Jets.

It was the slowest 90+ yard run in nfl history.

He just kinda jogged down the side line with a couple linemen, then picked up TO near the 15, and they all kinda fell in to the endzone.

It was amazing that a lineman made it 90+ and was still blocking 90 yards later and that Hearst had that kinda patience.

TO showing up at the end was just incredible.

Get chills thinking about it.

Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Steve Bono running 76-yards for a TD on a focking naked bootleg in 1995 against the Cardinals.

I remember the drive line on that one... I think it was... 1-play, 76-yards, Touchdown, elapsed time 7:34.

It was the slowest longest TD bootleg in the history of ever. In fact, as I remember watching it, I thought that the defense stood there in stunned disbelief that 12.5 40-yard dash Steve Bono couldn't possibly have the ball, it must have gotten lost. NO ONE seemed to even be close to thinking about running him down.

It was downright bizarre.

1) Lawrence Taylor "snapping" Joe Thiesman's leg. I will never forget that.

That was bad, in a not so good kind of way.

Also the hit Steve Atwater put on Christian Okoye, that was sweet.

For me (and every Viking fan) it was Gary Anderson missing the game winning 38 yard field goal against Atlanta to take us to the superbowl, after he made every single kick that year (39 straight + 67 extra points). That was brutal.

I must add Junior Seau holding his forearm up like a dead fish by the tail, and it flopping around at his new elbow. Bleeeaaaacch

That is a new one burned into my memory forever - that was one clean break, and an HD experience I'm not sure I really needed to have. That cameraman was on it though, kudos.

I remember a sack by Reggie White playing the Vikings. For some reason Chris Carter had to try to block him, so Carter just kinda got in his way like taking a charge in basketball. White swung his arm through and it looked like he only touched Carter with two fingers but it lifted Carter off his feet and sent him flying. White actually looked like his used Carter's body as a springboard to accelerate into sacking the QB. They showed multiple replays as an example of why you couldn't try to block White with a WR, hilarious. It looked like White was flicking away a booger.

Packers fan here

1. Jon Elway and his little run in the superbowl.

2. My second is TO and his catch to put my packers out of the playoffs.

3. And then (I think I'm going to be sick) 4th and 26, and the eagles get it. They march down the field and score.

After remembering all these plays I think I'm going to go get wasted.

Chris Hanson of the Jags chopping his own leg with an axe and missing an entire season.

That is a classic. I only wish there was a video of it available.

Apparently, the axe/stump were there as a motivational device.

* Billy White Shoes Johnson's funky chicken dancing.

* Garrison Hearst's ankle injury during the 1998 playoffs.

* Jim Kelly breaking DB Anthony Phillips' leg on a tackle following an interception.

* I don't know the exact details of my favorite Chris Berman NFL Primetime moment; a little help? Receiver catches a touchdown, runs through the end zone and throws the ball into a homemade banner with some guy's face (Buddy Ryan?) hanging from the stands. "Take that, ya filthy animal!" I thought it was the funniest thing he's ever said.

Another memory from Lambeau, same endzone seats, Green Bay end. Playing against the Niners, the pack had pinned them down at the one yard line with a nice punt at the end of the third.

So at the start of the fourth, Steve Young is walking from the sideline toward the end zone and his line is taking him straight toward my seat. The crowd is still quiet after the break between quarters, so Young is at about the five when I stand-up and shout "You're goin' down Steve!" and you can actually see a little hitch in his step as I yell it. First down, the crowd really comes to life, he takes a two step drop and just wings the ball nowhere near a reciever ... the Niners ended up putting together a 99 yard drive to score a TD. But the Packers won the game.

I'm a Colts fan, but I have a good friend who takes me to a Packers game every once in a while, so my second favorite team is the Packers. My friend still cracks up at this story because Young definitely heard me, and it kinda got everyone around us fired-up.

I didn't have time to read through all of these, but for me, growing up a Raider fan in the 70's, it had to be the feeling of joy then horror when Franco Harris made the immaculate reception. I can only imagine that every Raider fan felt the same way I did.
