LMFAO

Your watching a college football game and you're worried about what I'll say.

I am so far into your head that you can't do anything without worrying about what my response will be.

Do you see me in your cereal bowl every morning? Do you hear my voice in the afternoon at work? I have ruined your pathetic life. That'll teach you to mess with Eagles fans, sucka.

Dance for me, puppetboy. Dance for me.

carr isn't a good coach. he's gotten horribly schooled by carroll in this game, which doesn't help the lopsided score.

michigan has the talent to be putting on a better show than that.

where in my post did i say i wasn't a wolverine fan anymore?

pointing out the obvious about the game--and carr.

the wolverines under carr have historically been perplexed by coaching wrinkles and anything new a team does that hasn't been on the film they've studied. the game was 3-3 at the half. which team's coaching staff made the adjustments and exploited the other in the second half? carroll's. carr (and the michigan name) does a pretty good job of recruiting talent. but that ability doesn't extend consistently to his sideline coaching abilities.

hence, my original point: carr got schooled today. and it's not the first time. all of this is factual. none of it means i'm not a wolverine fan anymore.

so...you're speculating what i might have thought ten years ago had this board existed?

i've been watching the wolverines since bo's early days. i doubt you're in a position to lecture me, son, on what doesn't or doesn't ail the wolverines in any particular year. carr's shortcomings are well documented. he got schooled today by carroll. nothing in history will change that fact about today's game.

so i suggest you go back to pumping up grossman and leave the wolverine talk to others who know something about them.

it would be nice if usc were made to come play michigan in the big house in january. but it is what it is and they'll always have a home game for this game. that said, the blowout factor in the game was due, as i've mentioned, to carr getting out-coached by carroll and his staff.

and that's part of the game, too, so props to usc.

USC probably does the same to Ohio St tonight.

That is why we need a playoff.

Maybe...the way USC threw the ball, but you think the Buckeyes wouldn't have gone down the field a few times themselves?

Frankly its embarassing and the bias of Musberger and the crowd don't help...

I would like to point out that the majority of the croud was NOT behind Michigan. Te Rose Bowl game has always been, and will always be, a home game for USC. Even the announcers commented on the fact that they thouht USC was lagging because they were in the same hotel, the same routine, etc etc etc.

So the bias of the crowd is bogus, as for Muttburger, I won't comment.

However, all things considered, Michigan got handle today.

FYI: I am an Iowa/Big Ten fan.

most announcers wave the flag of the team that jumps out and does well, much like the french waving whatever flag of whatever country overruns them every-other decade.

at the beginning of the game, brent was saying both teams would be returning a lot of starters next year and that the winner of the game would have the inside track at the #1 preseason ranking next year. even coming into the second half, i thought the talk was pretty balanced about what each team had to do to be successful in the second half.

once usc jumped on the wolverines, though, brent planted his lips firmly on usc's schlong and didn't let go. that said, had it been the other way around brent wouldn't have had a problem sucking the wolverine's schlong. it's the nature of the beast, and sports announcers are, by their own nature and the corporate backers they anser to, wh0res.

Lot's are talking about how Carroll schooled Carr and it's true. But, in reality all he really did was copy what OSU did to Mich. So, I wouldn't be slobbering Carroll's nob. It really isn't so much what he did as Carr and staff being such morons that they learned nothing at OSU and nothing today when the opponent spread the field. Carr is an idiot.

BTW, WI fan. :dunno:

i think the lions proved to the cowboys yesterday that on any given day...

aside from that, you're not giving usc the credit they deserve to be saying the wolverines--or any team--should handily be blowing them out.

You are the type of person that when Bo was coaching was calling for his head because he was 5-12 in bowl games (2-8 in the rose bowl).

I have seen you post all over the place, and you old man, are a "Fair Weathered Fan" and it is well documented.

What's most strange about the Wolves' offensive game plan was they never rolled Henne out of the pocket -- even though he was pressured all night.

The most telling stat regarding Michigan in recent years is they've lost their last 3 vs. the Buckeyes and their last 3 bowl games. That kind of production gets coaching staffs pink-slipped quickly nowadays.

You cant take one game, and then throw in another team and think it will translate. Thats like saying, Washington State beat UCLA by 20 some points, and UCLA beat USC, so Washington State would of smashed USC by 30 and should be in the championship game with a 6-6 record!!!!

you continue to grab at straws. others here have backed up what i've said as being true: carr got outcoached. i haven't disowned the wolverines by stating the obvious facts.

here's a tip that will help you out as you move forward: when grossman goes 2-for-12 and throws 3 picks, it's okay for you as a fan to say "you sucked, grossman." just as it's okay to point out the sky is blue. both are facts. you don't have to get the poms poms out and write a cheer of "it's okay, rex, i love you and you're the bestest!!" in order to be a "true fan."

free tip.

I didn't watch the whole game, but Henne looked very immoble, like Bernie Kosar back there at the end. If he would of moved a little he could of avoided a lot of the sacks and bought time. I thought he had a little more movement than that.

yeah, i was thinking the same thing early in the first quarter: "roll him out, carr!" that part wasnt' rocket science. and notice what carroll did after the wolverines spent the first half blowing up the interior the usc o-line? started rolling out booty!

duh!

tell me how you came to be a fan of the team you root for and i'll give you my definition of a "fair weather fan."

--did you start following them because of their cool uniforms?

--did you start following them because the team you should be rooting for in your homestate sucked and you got on the bandwagon during a super bowl year?

--do you have a different city team you root for in each major sport?

--were you born and raised in one part of the country but inexplicably root for a team on the other side of the country?

--did you pick your team you root for because of one player you really, really liked?

--are you a fan of multiple teams in the same sport?

let's hear your story. i bet it has to do with some of the questions above--and yes, as you might have surmised, my definition of "fair weather" has a lot to do with the above questions.

check my sig: born and raised in michigan, pal. i'm a fan of nothing that isn't michigan. never have been. never will be. what's your story, mr. fair weather labeler?

wisc lost to THAT michigan team? ugh.....

wisc-ohio state wouldve been the better title game....

and rather handily, i might add. maybe wisconsin should be even lower in the standings. is that what you're saying?

I agree that USC has superior coaching which is an advantage when you have time to prepare for a bowl game. Let's not read too much into this performance, though. With lots of youth and lots of talent, USC is both very inconsistent and very dangerous. It's no surprise they could lose 2 games (and very nearly lose several more) and still play like champs against a good team like Michigan.

Credit Pete Carroll for doing a great job preparing for this particular bowl--all year long (and in the past in a similar situation) his message was that it's an honor and a goal to play in the Rose Bowl. Sure, he wanted to be in the national championship but had his team up for this game. Whereas Lloyd Carr was quiet throughout the regular season and then did nothing but whine after his team had to settle for Rose.

Agree with this completely, and I'm a Michigan fan. Spread the field, throw the short slants, and let your athletes take it from there. Michigan was horribly unprepared. Carr should be completely embarrassed and get the door shown to him. What a monumental waste of talent.

just really disgustingly embarassing... what a meltdown to get owned like that. i'll add that you can hate lloyd, but it won't matter. he'll probably make a run at the national title next year and consider retirement. either way he ain't leaving until he's ready even if he maybe should. okay, i'll be puking.

Completely agree.

I do give a lot of credit to UM's defense this year though. Herman was a great coach for them, but I really like their new coordinator (can't remember his name). Maybe this bowl game will further illustrate to the higher-ups that Carr is the problem. I'm sick of watching them lose to OSU and in bowl games the last several years. Cooper was fired for losing to UM too much, and now it's Carr's turn to suffer the same fate.

If Carr stays, OSU will win every year because Lloyd is Tressel's b!tch. Cooper was an idiot when coaching at OSU and the Buckeyes did what they had to do. Michigan should think about doing the same because Tressel's waaaaaay too damn smart for Lloyd Christmas.......oops.......I mean Carr.

The D coordinator is Ron English, and, I agree that he's a keeper.

There are pro's and con's to Lloyd Carr just like any other college coach:

He can recruit

He's won a National Championship

He can't beat Tressel

The latest bowl game losses

Given the talent they have coming back next season, I think UM gives him one more shot. Let's face it, they overexceeded expectations this year. In any other year, they'd have won the Big Ten. But the proof is in the pudding, that he can't beat Ohio State.

They shouldn't fire Carr just for the sake of getting rid of him. If they get rid of him, they'd better have a proven coach, with a good track record, coming in to improve the program.

Carr is looking like Steve Fisher more and more everyday. We all know how that worked out.

Dude...for as much as you can slam swamp for....this one is not the case.

Fans should complain about being outcoached in bowls.

As Bo was...as Carr has been. To take it to another team...as Phil Fulmer has been.

Because when it comes down to it...the postseason says alot about coaches.

look at what Carrol does...what Paterno does in bowls...what Barry Alvarez did in bowls.

When you are the coach at Michigan...2 things will get you canned. Not beating OSU and not winning bowl games.

I'm pretty sure I could recruit Michigan to kids.

- Major program with massive tradition

- Play in front of over 100,000 at every home game

- Nationally televised as much as anyone else not named Notre Dame

- Look at who's played there in the past and how many are in the NFL

- etc

Easy sell. :dunno:
