Scrotum problems

Recommended Posts

My nutsack has been aching for a couple of days, so last night in the shower I started to feel it. I found something kind of lumpy between my balls. It is squishy and about half the size of my nuts. It gives me kind of a dull ache. Is this a hernia?

Dude, get that checked out. I am having the same kinda pain in that area going down my right leg and im being told that it is probably stress due to heavy lifting. Im doing more weights than ever before so im hoping that its related to that, getting a check up on Monday. If I felt a lump down there, id be running to the doctor bro.

Could very well be. You should definitely see your dr. right away to rule out anything else.

I'm pretty sure that treatment of hernia is mainly rest, but can't remember for sure.

And no, I'm not speaking from 'personal' experience... my ex used to have this problem on occasion.

G/L.

If it's squishy, it's likely not cancer. It's a veriseal or something like that. I've had that. Basically, it's like when all the wires behind your entertainment center get all knotted up. Nothing to worry about.

Some hernias need surgery. My husband had a hernia when he was very little (around 6 or so....) and needed surgery.

If I were a dood, anything that was abnormal in that area, I would get checked out...STAT.

I have been lifting weights at the gym, but I have not been straining too hard. I hope it's not a hernia because I don't want my ballsack sliced open again. I had a vasectomy, and it was not a pleasant experience.

This is not true and you really should not be making such statements. Inguinal hernias do extend into the scrotum and can be caused by simply laughing sometimes. While it sounds by your description that it is a hernia, you need to have it looked at as hernias do not resolve themselves. This is one area where you don't want to procrastinate or mess around. Good Luck!

I have to agree with this. It's much better to be on the safe side and get it checked out. And as TheNewGirl mentioned, some hernia's do require surgery.

This is one area where you don't want to ask for medical advice on a Fantasy Foodball Geek Bored

Fixed.

How exactly do you KNOW it is "not true". Have you fondled his nutsack lately? What a stupid statement. "This is not true". It may very well be true. You don't know that any more than you KNOW it's a hernia.

So, Doctor Hernia STFUP with the absolute statements and realize this fockstick is on a Geek Bored. He's looking for everyone's individual experiences. I gave him mine. If he wants a medical analysis, he'd be at the Doctor. - Which he is not - and you are not one. If he doesn't know enough to get his junk checked out and relies upon 'some guys on the Geek Bored', well then, Darwin wins again.

Oh and BTW: "Live Strong" isn't actually the prescribed medical advice either. HTH.

you see this is the opposite of what my doctor told me. I recently had a large cyst takin out of my arm (about the size of a marble) and the doctor was cutting it out he said usually he has to be very careful because they are squishy/ easy to break, and if they break it is more likely that the growth would come back. He also said that the cyst was so hard he was almost certain that it wasn't cancerous (and the tests did come back negative), but he said that it is the squishy ones that are morely likely to be cancerous

moral of the story... yeah you should definately get that checked out.

From the interwebs:

When to seek medical advice

Testicular lumps (now, who would want to ENLARGE testicular lumps?)

See your doctor if you detect any pain, swelling or lumps in your testicles or groin area, especially if these signs and symptoms last longer than two weeks. Make an appointment with your doctor even if a lump in your testicle is not painful. Only a small percentage of testicular cancers are painful from the outset.

Other diseases and conditions can produce testicular lumps. These may include:

+Benign scrotal masses. Cysts, inflammations, physical injury or a hernia may cause masses of fluid or solid material in, on or around the testicles.

+Epididymitis. This inflammation affects the tubes that transport sperm.

+Hydrocele. This soft and usually painless swelling in the scrotum is due to a collection of watery fluid.

+Spermatocele. This type of cyst is formed by blockage in the tubes that transport sperm.

+ Varicocele. Enlarged veins can cause swelling in the scrotum.

+ Orchitis. This inflammation of the testicle is often due to a bacterial infection or the mumps virus.

Turn your head and fondle yourself. Pick from above. Then go see a Dr. - Or don't. I mean, it's only your testicles - it's not like anything useful is at risk.

i'm just saying man... granted the cyst removed was from my arm, and granted your arms and testicles are two totally different things he just told me that if it IS a growth (tumor, cyst, etc.) the harder ones are less likely to be malignant.

if it is a verocele sp? i mean that's good for him, but regardless he should let the doctor molest him

Sorry my friend..the only idiot here is you...You told him that by being squishy its probably not cancer....that is what I was saying is not true and I DO know this for a fact!. Of course you need to able to read and comprehend to understand this so I understand why you had problems. I never said I knew it was anything, I just said from the way he explained it it sounds like a hernia and he should get it checked out. I made no absolute statements...yours were way more assumptive than mine were. You also have no idea what I do for a living so there you go again thinking you know things to which you have absolutely no clue.

How long ago did you get snipped? For 6 months or so after I had mine done, it felt like there was a lump of spaghetti in there.

----Update----

I went to the doctor this morning. He said that my epididymis is swollen. He said it could be from some kind of trauma. The only thing I can remember happening to my sack recently is when my wife reached back to juggle my balls while I hit her doggie style. I asked her to be more gentle next time.
